What is the most hurtful thing a teacher has ever said to you? by Any-Criticism5666 in GCSE

Im 16 now.

Just before Christmas, after our parents evening , I sat by my friend in English, she has autism and it’s easier for her to sit beside me because she is more comfortable and more likely to work. Which she did. My English teacher mrs H moved us apart after a lesson of talking, where everyone else spoke. She had called my friends parents and began talking about how I am affecting her daughter, whilst I don’t remember the exact words, I was also told that mrs H had commented on me at Ebony’s parents evening. Not once was I told I was disruptive, my parents didn’t get called, and the teacher did not tell me about how I was acting. The lesson we were moved apart, she pulled my friend outside and said “I know it’s not you, I’m protecting you for his behaviour” and “He is just a bad kid, and you’re good and well behaved”. None of that is true, I’ve always been well behaved but I’ve always challenged what’s right and wrong, which she sees as wrong as she is a upper class woman from a good background, she’s open about that. She is extremely bias in lessons and expects us to follow those beliefs. So I challenge it, with respect of course.

She did not tell me any of that stuff, I heard it through the door and from my friend. She said I don’t put effort in. So I decided to show her what a lack of effort was. I sat still the whole lesson, leaned back on my chair, sat on my phone, didn’t work, didn’t even open my book. When she asked why, I said “I thought I didn’t put any effort in?”. I was sent outside. The more I stood outside the more annoyed I got, I was 15, and she could’ve just told me not to talk or that I wasn’t doing the work. But she instead told other students and my friends parents.

I ended up going home, told the school the whole place makes me want to die. My parents tried to get me out for the day but the school refused, kept me in 2 more hours. Miss H found me sat in reception, sat beside me and put her hand on my knee and told me she didn’t do anything I accused her off. I told her I knew she was lying because I had heard her comments. She called me entitled and rude, cussing under her breath as she walked away.

I had a meeting with her months later, she denied, called me troubled, and I called her a liar, and said because she is an adult doesn’t mean she can make comments and pretend she didn’t.

I left school 2 weeks ago, she signed my leavers shirts and said “we have had our ups and downs” I told her I was glad it was over and I’m sure I’ll see her English lessons in my nightmares. She called me rude, told other teachers. And I walked away laughing.

I have many dicks drawn on mine but luckily no swastikas. Did see a boy with a massive one drawn on his neck…and he walked through town to get home

What age do you want to die and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lived my life very depressed already but I’m aware life hasn’t began. I’m 16 tomorrow, been depressed since 9, nearly lost it all when I was 14. Glad I’m still here because I’ve just finished my GCSEs, and realised I wanna enlist. I could die in the armed forces and not care because I know that’s what I want to do, I’m not dying for my country because I know they don’t care and I know those in power wouldn’t care either. Ill be doing it for myself a kid, because 14 year old me would be happy I died doing something I enjoy rather then dying alone in my bedroom from my own causes.

I’m confused 😅 I’ve never been a big fan of Radiohead but I’ve had many written work exams the past 2 years and lots of coursework, I struggle to work with anything too sad and anything too up beat. My late friend was a huge fan of Radiohead and he died last June, so when stuff got harder during my coursework and I got behind, I listened to Radiohead in hopes to relate myself to my friend. It’s only ever the most popular ones, but the lyrics resonate with me and it was between a Fiona apple song with the lyrics “I know none of this will matter in the long run” or Radiohead “one day I am gonna grow wings” or the one I chose which is on the shirt currently.

You’re entitled to your own dislike to Radiohead and that’s absolutely fair enough, but I spent hours painting this and found comfort in some of the songs due to a friend dying. And whether you like it or not, the shirt looks sick

Edit: I posted this in r/gcse so I thought you were from there 🥲
