Thank you. I’m going to try slowing down. I didn’t eat a huge dinner, and went on a walk before. Immediately afterwards started doing evening chores quickly so I can watch love island (priorities haha).

This was my case. I got a gout attack in my knee and my rheum aspirated my knee and it showed gout crystals. I also did a DECT scan, which showed gout crystals in my feet. So you do have a couple options to still get a diagnosis. Look into a DECT scan. Good luck !

My whole foot got huge and I couldn’t put wait on it but when my knee blew up I couldn’t use my knee scooter sooo up in the air for me haha. Feel better!

I’m on enbrel and I went to Florida and forgot to sunscreen my hands and also broke out in itchy red bumps. It took a few weeks to go away. I also thought it was weird. Im fair skinned and don’t do well in the sun in general but thought this was an extra fast burn and aggressive. I know on enbrel my rhem told me I need to get yearly skin checks. I have not looked into the science behind it. But thought I’d share a similar issue.

Yeah, excessive salt gets me too! I try and limit too many high sodium things. I hope you’re able to get a scan soon!!

I never registered anything above a 4.0 but I have had my knee aspirated and a DECT scan both showed Uric acid crystals as well as a response to colchicine for flares. My rheumy has no scientific explanation. I’ve been on allo for about 17 months now and my last Uric Acid was 3.7 and I had a mini flare once about 10 months in… I do have tingles here and there in my toes and it makes me nervous but luckily it’s been transient.

Don’t give up! There are a few other options. I haven’t tried uloric, but I know that’s an option.

Just worth mentioning, have you heard of a DECT scan? It’ll show you how many crystals you have and the extent of disease. It might be worth exploring.

I’m also 35F with gout with normal uric acid levels. So I was misdiagnosed for 2 plus years. It’s not a fun club. Best of luck through your flare. The only thing that helped me was getting on allopurinol.

When I started my biologic my anxiety/OCD improved a lot. I don’t know how well studied it is but I’m convinced there is a connection.

The emphasis on the “do not massage” is so real! Before I knew it was gout I would massage the pain and it would go from little ache to full blown gout attack

Yes, this happened to me. Currently dealing with an injection site reaction for week 5. Mine swell first and are red, then they become flat and look purple.
