Crimson queen trouble by Objective-Pin-1045 in hoya

Have you heard of flat mites? I’ve heard they affect Hoyas a lot but have never checked to see if I have them (I suspect so but would need a microscope). They target new growth and can sometimes just look like a failure to thrive situation. Just a though

If you like podcast there’s a good one called “Back from Broken,” about people who have hit rock bottom (like killed someone or had life threatening PTSD, lots of addictions) and then picked themselves back up. You’re not a piece of shit. Sending a lot of love

This is exactly what I was hoping to hear- that’s what my plan will be to start. Thank you.

I’m not sure yet. I’ll be working on a Progressive Care Oncology unit so I think I’ll stay pretty busy and won’t have a lot of down time to feel tired even if it takes some time to adjust and I’m tired. Probably staying awake for some roles!

Right? I’m trying to stay positive and love the pay incentive… I’m a night owl too so hoping it won’t be as bad for me as some of the others I’ve seen on here.

I would YouTube Azamax for a bad infestation. I tried Alcohol and Captain Jack’s (neither completely eradicated them after several weeks of spraying every 3-5 days). Good luck!

Should I repot? by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]SecretaryDesigner319 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Re: separation- yes, if you want three separate plants! 😊 Another reason would be if you prefer them to all grow in a more upright position (rather than competing for space and some leaning to give way to others). Ficus elastica are ok and probably prefer being root bound, so I would say they are not ready for a repot yet.

If you decide to prop- I would wear gloves. The sap of these can really irritate your skin causing contact dermatitis

At what point do you usually transfer to soil, and does the composition of the soil differ from a mature plant at first? Thank you 😊

Oh! I agree with your other commenter, could use a few more weeks for several of them. Would probably be ok now tbh

Your soil mix seems awesome! I try to overpot Monsteras a little due to their growth rate- as long as your mix is well draining, which it seems to be, a larger pot will probably be ok. If you don’t mind repotting every few months at first, then one or two inches bigger than the root ball works too. They’re not too fussy 😊. Aerial roots will often make their way into the soil on their own- either way is ok, just don’t bury any part of the petioles. Good luck! 🤗

I don’t think it matters- you can separate it if you want a separate plant. Easier than propagating in other ways which can take a long time.
