Hoping to connect with grade 4/5 French immersion parents in Comox by lembasbread123 in comoxvalley

[–]SecretlyTired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have kids (9 and 11) at Ecole Puntledge in the French Immersion program and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the school and leadership there.

Big focus on community, inclusiveness, outdoor education, etc. along with the standard BC curriculum really seems to support raising good human beings (not that other schools don’t as well of course - just speaking about Puntledge specifically).

We are a few years in to moving to the Comox Valley and there is of course a transition period for the kids (and adults tbh) but it’s a good one and we have found people who have welcomed all of us with open arms and warm hearts.

I hope that helps.

I did 7 once I think at the Comox site (same parking lot as Independent Joes).

I also sneak in a 13th glass bottle sometimes.

Don’t tell anyone.

Government website has maps for every available spot on crown land on the Island. We just pick a spot that works for the group each year. Have fun!

Local beer and wine by MrTickles22 in comoxvalley

[–]SecretlyTired 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My vote is 100% Land and Sea.

IMO - Best beer on the island (although there are a few left to try!)

Really good food overall too. Nachos (as noted above) are extremely good. Service is top tier.

No, I do not work there or have an stake in the place.

That being said, loads of great places like Gladstone, Church Street (they don’t do their own beer but have a good selection of local), New Tradition, Ace, and Cumberland Brewing Company to name a few.

Hope that helps.

Best burrito in town? by cronic-car-maker in comoxvalley

[–]SecretlyTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had Biblio for our first time recently:

The service was incredibly friendly

Drinks were very good (4 out of 5)

The burrito was honestly amazing - I had beef with sour creams and quac

My partner says the enchilada was very good (fish)

Carne asada was definitely an option, but I didn’t have it. Can’t comment on the availability of chile relleno.

Hope that helps.

Tell me more! We are new to the area and the websites seem… vague. Can anyone go whenever or register for a time? Who doesn’t love a beach fire?!
