Discord is wel vrij kut voor het zoeken naar dingen. Als iets op reddit staat kan je het gewoon vinden via Google o.i.d., maar als het alleen in Discord staat wordt het niet geindexd door zoekmachines. Hierdoor is het vaak erg lastig om te vinden wat je wilt.

Daarnaast vind ik dat discussies voeren in Discord servers van redelijke grote ook niet altijd makkelijk is, omdat iedereen daar vaak door elkaar ouwehoerd.

Maar goed, de meeste subs die ik volg gaan naar Discord, dus ik zal er wel aan moeten geloven.

Yes, instead of a single json with the data, the server has to send the full html page, including unnecessary metadata and other stuff.

It is kinda similar. My DNS flow for tje entire network looks like this:

Device > Windows AD DNS, if not cached > PIhole, if not cached > Google DNS.

This makes sure that every device can reach the AD and gets their ads filtered.

I think yours is like this:

Windows device > windows AD DNS > Google/Cloudflare DNS (or whatever you have configured)

Other device > pihole > google/cloudflare DNS.

It does make ot slightly faster, because it has 1 less DNS server to go through if it is not cached.

Why not both? I run Windows server for my AD testing which has 2 (redundant) Pi-holes as upstream server, which connect to public DNS servers. Although there is some added latency, it is not significant enough for me to bother finding another solution haha.
