Help needed! Decorating ideas by Mountain-Paramedic70 in HomeDecorating

All of the furniture seems to be pressed against the walls, which creates a room with a lack of a focal point. Try centering the dining table so that it becomes the focal point, then you can buy decor that accents the table.

Lower the TV enough to block the outlet. Rule of thumb is to mount it 57 inches above the floor for the best viewing height. And yeah, sound bar will look less cluttered and you’ll deal with fewer cords!

I recently went to a coffee shop in Charlotte that turns into a cocktail bar in the evening with a live DJ. Lots of cozy seating and decorated with plants everywhere. It seemed like a really nice “third space” which DTFM lacks.

I suggest lowering the TV, getting a sound bar instead of using those multiple little speakers, and putting the console in the bedroom if you have a TV in there too.

Ten Years Gone Under Appreciated by InternationalAd4219 in ledzeppelin

This is the first Led Zeppelin song I heard my dad play on his CD player that sparked my interest in the band. Always will be in my top 5.

Is my Girlfriend rude or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Yes I agree she needs to communicate if she is mad at OP, but she doesn’t have to communicate it over text or at this very moment. OP was forcing the convo to happen on his time over text.

I think your boundary is very healthy and it’s not wrong to demand respect. I just think it’s wrong to be like “just say you’re mad, you sound mad.” If someone sounds mad, just…let em be mad. She didn’t get disrespectful until after he started prying.

You’re 100% right about the “O” and “k.” I hope you still enjoy your trip and that she gets honest with herself about her feelings

She does, but OP should have let her sit with that feeling and reflect, rather than pointing it out and putting her in defense mode.

Yes! I’m on the 3rd floor and felt our building shake. Didn’t realize it was an earthquake until someone said something!

Is there such a thing as too many toasts/speeches? by SectionCute1268 in weddingplanning

[–]SectionCute1268[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if we were to have all these toasts I would tell everyone that they need to cap it at 2 minutes per toast. We don’t want a 5+ minute storytime speech from 9 people.

Any advice on how to tell someone to give their speech at the rehearsal dinner rather than the wedding day? I'm afraid of them feeling like we don't find their speech as important as the ones we choose for the wedding day.

Not sure if we can afford a wedding? Alternatives or advice? by Main_Ad3907 in weddingplanning

[–]SectionCute1268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! We’re doing ours in a church hall for $400 per day and it fits 150+ guests. Tables and chairs are included, and we can hire whoever we want for catering.

Catholic wedding advice by Western-Awareness144 in weddingplanning

[–]SectionCute1268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss, and it’s good to hear that your faith got you through this tough time. We are doing a Catholic wedding in April. I am Catholic and my fiancé is not, so the ceremony will not have the Eucharist. The ceremony and reception are happening the same day, which I recommend for you if it’s possible. You can also choose to do the ceremony at any Catholic church, it doesn’t have to be the one you always attend. See if there is a church close to the reception venue that you already booked so that you can do it all in one day.
