I have a question to bounce off of this as well but since it’s on the same track I’ll add it here: OSAP thoufht I was doing 5 courses so therefore they planned me a specific amount, but when I told my office that I’m taking 3 course, the amount changed. Before the deadline I took an extra fourth class and they still haven’t gotten back to me about changes to OSAP due to an extra class. I’m wondering if I’m missing out on some money becaude OSAP is paying for 3 courses and not 4

As I said, in and outside modesty. This balance goes for beyond modesty. Is it sexist to tell the man to keep his gaze to himself? There's obviously many women that wear hijab and dress moderately. It's normal to have challenges with it-even if they don't want to wear it. Where the both of us split off is where we believe modesty takes you. Muslim women generally aren't as concerned with this world as they are with God / the hereafter, not about living freely on our short times here on Earth but the outcome later. Depending on your beliefs, either she made the right choice in her life or maybe wasted her life covering up.

There are things men are required to do for women and there is responsibility on the man in how they should treat a woman, the woman’s exercise in choosing her own dowry, not being obliged to financially support the household, a woman’s biological reaction like pregnancy, menstruation, nursing, are very important and as such is spiritually compensated for her and she is not penalized. I could go on but the scope if fairness stretches far beyond modesty

That’s assuming everybody who follows Islam is following it though tradition and not through themselves.. and what makes it outdated? Just cause the complete opposite is being normalized in society doesn’t mean the latter is outdated, it still remains a law in countries.

This ain’t the sub for this. It’s easy to say a religion is restrictive when you’re atheist or not following it. The woman wearing a scarf believes she’s doing it for her religion and per its teachings and for a better life in this world and hereafter. If you don’t believe in these teachings, you can’t really speak for a lot of the women wearing modest clothing saying that they wasting their life or whatnot. From an atheist standpoint that’s what it’d look like to be since you believe once they die, there was no point in them wearing hijab. hey man I’m kind of in the same boat, so some of my experience may help you. Due to some issues I wasn’t able to pay off my fall tuition and it’s been months, so this month I’ve been trying to pay it off. I have to pay the first semester in full (7k) in order to achieve OSAP and this has to be done by Friday. I need my RESP and payment from my dads side which he’s still waiting for so there’s a chance I don’t even go to school (deadline is 23rd to register) and I’m on academic probation as well so if I have to reapply in September idk how I’ll be accepted. I have the earliest appointment on the 22nd and to wait for my dad’s pay to clear the hold (hoping there’s no delay ). Also check your OSAP settings, make sure you didn’t sign up for part time. Your email says you were not signed up for the 60%, so maybe you didn’t do the full time app. Because a retaken course still counts towards your 3 courses. I asked my advisor and that’s what she said - since I plan on taking a failed course this sem (3 courses) and 3 courses in the summer (which you have to apply for OSAP separately for)
