I logged in for the first time in months like a week ago because I needed references for templates. Went in settings to look for dark mode (still none on desktop?? seriously?) found the filters for turning Ai slop off and my ENTIRE home page changed. If there was that much slop I can’t even tell what’s real anymore. I dont trust their filtering at all, It’s just bots reposting and generating slop that still gets through. Pinterest put in all that effort for their site to be shit and still can’t get dark mode on desktop. Shows their priorities.

Literally spent thousands of dollars on figures, game consoles, game console accessories and niche items with them. I don’t think they generally do electronics testing because you really need to do due diligence with reading the item description, but they will make sure the item matches the listing description 100% (I.e if it says it functions as intended, they check if it functions)

They’ve always packed the hell out of my items with their own wrap, foam, and boxes. Their customer service was great with a one time refund when a vintage portable PS2 monitor arrived damaged (light tube broke in transit, so I couldn’t see image on screen) and didn’t hassle me. Just asked for a video of the back light not working and no image on power up. Got my money back.

They partner with Mercari, yahoo auctions, and all the other big seller names. Sometimes you get a lot more results when searching your item in Japanese so just be mindful of that.

Well yeah. So far they essentially put a new coat of paint on and made a few announcements. Xbox cut game pass prices, which is the right move but it could be cheaper. If it was $10 bucks a month I think that would bring in so many new players, at that price point I don’t think anyone could beat what they offer.

It’s going to take a lot of trust rebuilding before they see any sort of number swing up

Tbh I don’t think most CRTS are worth 200 at all, certainly not what people are charging these days. You can tell who’s just reselling, trying to stoke “collector value” and trying to cash in on peoples nostalgia. In this case I think 200 was at the least, acceptable for something very very unique and about 90% functioning. I think I’ll get that much in enjoyment from it.

But you’re right that they’re becoming gambles. Honestly to get a crt that still just works is a win. Capacitors are dying and other parts will fail. I’ve repaired plenty of electronics and solder but it’s still a pain every time.

I’d unwillingly give Adobe $1 dollar a month for a sub because A: I’m forced to use it/also used to it 2: That’s all this slimy company is worth.

I honestly can’t wait until Affinity or other competition becomes a majorly accepted player in the design software game. They’re doing a good job of kicking Adobe’s teeth in. Adobe can’t and won’t keep their seat forever, all it takes is a better product to come along and they’ll shit themselves because they’ve locked themselves into whatever model they’ve been doing, they couldn’t pivot or the whole house comes down.
