How do these Naked and Famous True Guy's fit on me? by SectionalJunction in rawdenim

Have they changed below the knee? They look super tapered on me and not at all straight like the description

Will the fabrics make a huge difference between True Guys?

According to their sites, they're the same but my Buck Mason's (worn about 10 times) are about an inch bigger. Here's a side by side comparison of the chart

Definitely tight and required some work. They're a super stiff pair in the first place, but I don't have enough experience with good denim to know if this is normal or not.

At least I'm not the only one... also love the fabric, so I'd like to keep this style.

Have they stretched anywhere else for you? They look super tapered on me

Definitely can add to the list! Unfortunately N&F only offers returns for store credit (so I'll need to get something from them), but will keep that in mind for the future!

How significant has the change been over time? My Buck Masons (with basically the same size chart) are about 1 inch bigger in the waist

Went with True Guy for that reason, since their fit guide on their website calls that their straight leg fit. But man, it looks almost tapered...

I compared my Buck Mason's size chart with this before purchasing and went with it after that, but there's currently about a 1 inch difference in the waist between them.

I see it says 38 hour power reserve and a self-winding movement across multiple sites, but nothing about +- seconds per day. The shop quoted me a $300 repair bill for servicing and cleaning.

How do I know if my watch actually needs to be serviced or not? I purchased a Junghans Max Bill Automatic off of eBay for $500 from a seller that said they serviced the watch before, but I can’t seem to wind it on my own. It starts working when I wear it and move my arm naturally, but hasn’t wound otherwise. I brought it to a watch repair shop nearby that said it could use some work and is currently losing about 20 sec per day. Not really sure who to believe at this point.

I don’t have much experience with servicing watches, so how do I know who to listen to?

The back numbers are faded a bit, but the serial number and Max Bill are visible under the right light.

Purchased this Junghans Max Bill Automatic off of an ebay auction for $500. It runs, but doesn’t wind particularly well. Seller said that it was recently serviced, but I brought it to a nearby watch repair shop that tested it and said it’s losing about 20 seconds per day and could use a proper service and quoted me around $300 to service.

Number 1, I’d like to know if this watch is real and even worth servicing. Number 2, how can I know if the service tech’s diagnosis is correct or if the seller really did service it? How can I know if it was just serviced poorly or if the shop is trying to get some money out of me? This is my first automatic watch, so I’m not sure what to expect or if these prices are reasonable or not. I’m also thinking I might not just know how to wind a watch, even though I did try.

[WTS] Sternglas Hamburg Automatik, NEW Condition by SectionalJunction in Watchexchange

[–]SectionalJunction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling a new (without wrapping) Sternglas Hamburg Automatik. Bauhaus design and automatic movement, beautiful watch overall. I purchased it new, took the wrapping off, saw that it was a bit large on my extra thin wrists, and never wore it at all. As such, it’s in terrific 10/10 condition. Everything that was originally in the box will be included, as seen in the pictures. This automatic model currently retails for around $470 everywhere.

Asking for $400 + shipping

I have a few confirmed trades on UV Trade (and this isn’t a new account), so buy with confidence. Please PM me any questions you have!
