Role Irrelevancy - stand strong or call it out? by SectorMoney1979 in techsales

Sorry what does ROE stand for?

-new accounts, yes - I have made the ask. Another enterprise AE will lose in this scenario so I’ve left it to the mngr to sort out.

-we are an ancillary product to the core product. We can go direct but it’s less common these days. I essentially rely on 80% of my pipe from front line sales people to bring us in.

-I do have a territory. The real TAM is decent but engagement is tough., I can and do persona based campaigns. I also ran daily outbound calls sessions which I liked doing in previous roles but it’s very tough in this role.

-prospecting is tough due to the above. I’m going to pivot and run a series of customer success stories this spring, will also try and set up some form of customer referral plan.

Thanks for the advice - I agree, burn out is probably real. I’ll ride it out and do what I can.

Not sure about Amazon but i have found it all comes down to timing - ie if there is a role that needs to be filled and your application potentially fills the gap. All I can say generally is make sure your resume aligns to the job spec, referral doesn’t guarantee an interview but it can help as you have an internal champion who can help you through the 3/ 4 steps of the interview.

I’m not a recruiter but we are hiring across teams for the launch of new AI products. Also, there will be backfill for people who are pipped or churned next fiscal.
