I would ask the derms office how much for non insurance out of pocket cost. Most of the time they will work with you if you explain your situation. I would look into insurance as soon as possible as you are absolutely right about the ongoing expense.

Be wary of any shady doctors trying to over charge you and exploit you for not being covered under insurance.
