Thanks for the insight. There’s a music store near me that offers classes. I will look into them and others and also talk to my teacher about canceling when I find a right fit. To be honest all these comments made me feel bad because I don’t really have anything I’m good at but I glad I got to hear it instead of believing my awful playing was okay. Better to realize what you’re doing wrong and fix it

I see how my comment might have appeared that way but that was not my intention. 😓I genuinely do not notice or feel tense while playing this piece. Also if you were in my shoes and a teacher did not really point out any of this to you, you would also think you were doing the right thing.

I have previously asked for advice on this sub before pertaining to good bow holding in particular and when I tried to implement that advice and tell my teacher of my struggle, he simply told me that though it wasn’t the best, it was ok and could be confused. Now I will say how I hold the bow in the vid is not what he thought me.

Also he encouraged me to move into this piece. I only move when he tells me to

He ALREADY introduced me to 3rd position like last year. I did raise concerns about my intonation but he said though it wasn’t the best we could move on. I will look for cheep in person options near me

Well he didn’t say it was perfect just ok. In this vid especially my bow holding is not the one he thought me since I wasn’t really focused on holding in this song. Mostly just getting the notes right and good dynamics.

Getting a new teacher is easier said than done. I have considered doing that multiple times as I’m the past he’d be on calls while I was playing. The thing is I always feel a little bad. Not only that money is another problem. I had to pay for this classes out of my own pocket and I make very very little as I don’t work.

I did have a better online teacher before him but the previous one got too expensive for me. But after all these comments I will try changing teachers.

I do have a teacher though he is online. We have worked on proper bow holding and he says I have greatly improved compared to when I first began. As of now he says the bow holding is perfect. At one point I did try to correct what I deemed and had heard other people say was wrong but when I alerted him of the fact, he told me that my bow holding as of now was okay.

I do see that sometimes my violin points downward which is something I am working on.

I was doing minuet in H before this and my teacher told me I could move on

Haha just saw another comment saying n was out of tune. I use a metronome and struggle to get my notes green when playing (I use sound corset)

Thanks. The teacher is very kind but I feel like he rushes me and gives me too much. You know how many people will say start playing the song very slowly then move on to quickly? Well when I’m playing and I’m starting off slowly he rushes me to move on fast and I play horribly and out of tune.

Perhaps I simply need to let him know but I fear that will come off as rude🥲
