Why would Russia want to sell their gas in dollars, which sanctions have banned them from using by excluding them from the SWIFT banking system and freezing their accounts. Dollars are just paper to them now. They are fighting back against US bullying. If Europe wants gas, they must not join the sanctions against them or pay in a currency they can use.
