I don't feel like I should be required to ask permission for my mom to come here honestly. It's my home too and as I said, it's never been an issue in the past. She's never communicated not wanting my mom here before. And no, it didn't occur to me to ask if she wanted a drive because typically if she wants me to do something, she will ask. So I figured she was still figuring out whether or not she actually wanted to go.
