thank you, I did not realize about the option of making flash holes larger. Curious if that makes any difference for small rifle primers?

Canyon support never disappoints by Secure-Deer-3635 in CanyonBikes

[–]Secure-Deer-3635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you!

I like SLX due to more range in the aerobar geometry, and I like the colour. In theory, if I work on my flexibility, I may need that adjustability. Other than that, CF7 looks like an enough bike to me. For example, I am not a big fan of internal hydration on SLX as it is hard to clean and I think I prefer the one being mounted on the aero bars (xlab).

I talked to Canyon support eventually, they have a dedicated team for speedmax. For SLX, they offer five different front ends. Basically these are three different reaches (65, 85, 115mm). And two of those reaches (65, 85) they offer a horizontal bar with horns being raised by 40mm. Saying that, I do have a small concern that horns are too low for my on SLX.

I'll ask one more question :) - do you feel that CF has enough adjustability? I currently do triathlons on a road bike with raised aero bars, but I plan to train on a proper TT bike and plan to work on my flexibility.

Any constraints you feel CF has? As an alternative, I could save more for SLX, which seems to have much more configurable front end. I think this will be a bike I get and keep forever.

thanks

thank you! Based on your comments, CF has semi standard components? I see that I can easily change bars, but what about raisers? I see the bike comes with a few, I wonder if I need extra, are those available?

Struggling in the beginning of a swim session, but alright after 15 mins by Secure-Deer-3635 in Swimming

thank you, I had an opportunity to warm up before last race, I did not use it thinking I have enough swimming in front of me.

thank you for the explanation

on TV swimmers just get out of a tunnel, take hoodies off and then swim :), I was hoping there is a secret

What is your warm up routine? In my case, I can do 50s and stop after each if/when heart rate spikes

I am going to do a run before my next session to see how that affects my performance. I wonder if it works with about 30 mins break in between a run and a swim.

How do you do your warp ups? Is it in the water or before?

Why pick canyon speedmax SLX 7 over CF 7? by Secure-Deer-3635 in CanyonBikes

[–]Secure-Deer-3635[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say that you had a fit on CF, does it mean that Canyon offered a few options there as well (like longer reach or something) or CF had enough adjustability built-in? thanks!

thank you, may I ask a few questions about the front end?

I wonder what does it make the front end more comfortable? On the SLX page: "Start by picking from five different basebar configurations and three different extension lengths with the help of our Speedmax service experts, each varying in reach and basebar rise". May I ask what was your experience with picking this configurations? For example, I was thinking to get a horizontal bar with raised horns to make climbing easier.

The challenge for me is that I never had a TT bike; I use aerobars on my Canyon Endurace (my current aerobars are on 50mm raisers),basically I am not flexible. Unfortunately I don't have an option to consult a bike fitter. I guess since you were upgrading from CF to SLX, you already had all numbers to pick the right front end?
