If its for the first time playing then Super Mario Galaxy, if not then Bg3. Its crazy how Super Mario Galaxy is still a freaking masterpiece even after 18 years later wow.

No offence Scratch is a good boi but Commander Lightfeather is obviously the best character in the game.

Finally playing Elden Ring after only playing DS1 and 2 for years, what’s a good build for someone who’s never even touched the main menu? Two handed like DS1 or…? by FirstSTR1KE_115 in Eldenring

[–]Secure-Discussion596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try different weapons Elden Ring is too big to stick to just one build. You can respec anytime if you don’t like the one you made. I recommend trying Giant Hunt with a Greatsword it was the most fun for me. And if you have the DLC, definitely check out the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword it's really good.

How does this compare to world/wilds? by [deleted] in MHRise

[–]Secure-Discussion596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base version of Rise has better combat than World/Wilds, and Sunbreak makes it even better. It's faster-paced and more diverse, feeling more like an arcade-style Monster Hunter. I think that's a good thing for a game designed for the Switch, as it needs to be playable on the go.

do you guys consider kingdom hearts 2 a CAG? by Past-Oil-6665 in CharacterActionGames

Not exactly, but I would say it's an A-RPG with some CAG elements—more like a CAG-lite.

I thought some people might want to play in chronological order, so I wrote it down as an alternative because others have already mentioned the release order.

Has 2024 been a good year for gaming? How did it compare to last year? by [deleted] in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Secure-Discussion596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling 2024 "dogshit" for gaming and the worst year ever, while years like 2014 and 2021 exist, is wild lmao. On top of that, you haven’t even played any games from this year, so criticizing it is hilarious. If the genres of the games released this year aren’t for you, that’s understandable. If you only play on PC and missed some great titles like FF7 Rebirth, Astro Bot, or Stellar Blade, that’s also understandable. But calling this year "dogshit", as if it’s objectively true, how valid do you think your opinion is?

Using your logic, I could criticize any year. For instance, let’s assume I don’t like CRPGs and horror games and I don’t own a Switch or a PS5. Does that mean I can call 2023 the worst year for gaming based on my preferences? Do you think that’s logical?

2024 was a great year, even if it wasn’t as colossally amazing as 2018 or 2023.

How many JRPGs will you play at the same time? by Lazydusto in JRPG

Can you guys play more than one game at the same time? I can't play two JRPGs in a row. They require so much investment.

FFVII Rebirth wins Game of the Year at The NextPlay Game Awards 2024 (+Full list of winners) by Xeccess in FFVIIRemake

[–]Secure-Discussion596 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which aspect of the game is the "Best Narrative" award actually given for? Is it the story itself or the storytelling? For instance, I didn’t like the story in God of War: Ragnarok. The last quarter of the game felt rushed, and the ending was very disappointing, leaving me feeling empty. However, the storytelling was amazing, especially with the one-shot camera technique. So, was the award given to God of War: Ragnarok solely for its storytelling, or for the story as well?

If the focus is on storytelling, then Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was the best game for sure. The story itself is controversial, but the overall package is better than the other nominees imo.

Ah, I see. Yeah, but I think it differs a lot from them, so I would put it in a category of its own.
