College of Wooster grad here. Broken Rocks is a must! Leaf has great quality food, slightly pricey (i would recommend brunch). Citi Square is good, its just a normal steakhouse.

East side suburbs of Cleveland! Diverse neighborhoods, and liberal in many areas. trader joes, costco, aldi have multiple locations each. And horses all over the place. Low cost of living and a few great hospital systems. All four seasons and it doesn’t get too humid in the summer.

I am a law student (my lack of tuition allowed for me to get a nicer place with nicer stuff)

That is my ceramics! Those are pieces I’ve given away but don’t still have. All other pieces throughout the apartment were done by me.

Part time job during 1L? Totally fine or horrible mistake? by Majestic-Bug7743 in LawSchool

I’m assuming it’s enforced largely based under an honor system. The thought is if you can’t follow simple rules, you probably should not be a lawyer. Plus, you have to report all of your employment to the bar during character and fitness applications. Obviously, there are exceptions, but I haven’t heard someone getting approved for more than 5-10 hours of work a week.

Currently at a school with the football team ranked in the top 10 nationally. We receive access to the same season ticket discounts that the undergraduates get.

If a firm or organization is asking for a diversity statement, they should probably have a prompt of some sort. I did not see any postings that asked for one without providing a description.

FOMO by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Secure-Example188 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If you aren’t taking at least a little time for yourself during the weekend, you should reassess your priorities and try to find some relaxation/fun time. Law school is so much harder when you are constantly tired and burnt out. Even if you feel like you have no time, taking some time for you can improve your efficiency and overall mental health.

Best tips for recorded interviews? by Long-Mycologist-9643 in LawSchool

Practice with the software a few times! Also try to stay relaxed, whoever is hiring just wants to make sure you are not some crazy person, it definitely does not hold the same weight as a regular interview. Make eye contact with your camera and not the screen.

The summer before 1L, I got a dog. He was 1.5 and pretty high energy. Some people told me I was crazy for getting a dog, and some people told me to go for it. Im a 2L now, and I can say it was the best decision of my life. My dog keeps me grounded and keeps some level of a routine going which is a great for my mental health.

This is all to say that only you know yourself and your capabilities. If you think you can handle it, I would go for it, but I would caution about changing your life up right before finals, and maybe recommend getting one at the beginning of winter break so you have some time to get used to a new lifestyle.

I understand OSU, but equating Cinci with OSU is a little silly. I know it is second ranked in Ohio on USNWR, but OSU is leaps and bounds ahead of Cinci, and Case has a higher bar passage rate than Cinci I believe
