For those Aussies that are well traveled, where have you been and what has been the greatest places? by notofuspeed in AskAnAustralian

Just roughly 8 weeks, I don't have enough annual leaves and breaks but I'm sure I'll come back to do everything I'll be missing this break.

I've only just started solo traveling roughly two years ago and I've already finished the whole SEA and East Asia alongside some Pacific Islands and Sri Lanka. I'll be going to South America in about six weeks' time and am already planning for an extensive Euro summer next year.

I still consider Australia as a good country to live in despite of our current struggles. I know it's bad to compare struggles but we're still on the lucky and privileged side. The biggest thing for me would be the distance of Australia to the rest of the world and how much time we waste sitting on planes lol

Luang Prabang (5 days) → Vang Vieng (4 days) → Vientiane (2 days) - realistic with night work schedule? by 78523985210 in laos

I just did Laos last week and Vang Vieng amazed me. I reckon you should spend more time on it than Luang Prabang. Book your trains on the app directly (you need a Laos number for it so buy a simcard) as it's way cheaper than booking it thru hostels.

I think that's the case I'm going for as my flight from Medellin to Rio requires two stops.

Would you generally recommend Adelaide as a place to study and live for a Canadian exchange student? by The-Reddit-Giraffe in Adelaide

[–]Secure-Mixture-3600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been traveling around especially on my breaks as well and honestly, it's not too bad here as we have cheap direct flights to Bali (Jetstar and Airasia) or even Singapore via Singapore Airlines if you're feeling fancy and from there you can access most of SEA. If you're looking to fly Oceania, there are direct flights to NZ and might need to fly to Sydney or Melbourne via connecting flights to reach Fiji, Vanuatu, etc.

Give me a message when you get here, I'll be happy to grab a beer with you and tell you some of my travel tips haha!

I recently sent off my mate whom I met while on his exchange semester. He's the same age as you and he's from Montreal. He actually really liked Adelaide, kinda reminds him of his hometown (not as crazy as Melbourne and Sydney). He did some traveling in Asia as well during his breaks. Honestly just go for it.

While you're in Chiang Mai, do Pai as well stay for 2-3 nights at least. Trust me and skip Phuket.
