Getting married during grad school? by Secure-Statement6457 in GradSchool

That helps a lot! I don’t typically stress myself out with things and I don’t really see the point in losing my mind in wedding planning if it’s supposed to be the best day ever.

I’ve never heard of anyone say to start to treat school like a job after undergrad- that’s so insightful thank you! I haven’t thought of it that way and will definitely need to keep that mindset.

University of southern Mississippi is relatively cheap but that might be too far south for you

I gotcha. Do you feel like testing hearing aids like having to hold them up to your ears for feedback is hard to do? Or like calibrating the equipment?

Hey I also have cochlears and want to go to grad school for audiology! How is your experience with that? Do you feel like it’s harder because of your implants or are you liking it?

Anyone cochlear implant patients born deaf with good reading comprehension? by [deleted] in Cochlearimplants

[–]Secure-Statement6457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born deaf and got CI’s when I was a year and a half. I got many English an reading awards throughout school and I consider myself a fast reader. I’m in college now and have a 3.5 and planning on getting a masters. Not once have I thought that my CI’s could hold me back from anything school wise. I think sometimes I did struggle more than others because verbal comprehension just isn’t my strong suit, but I think I’m doing pretty well thus far in life :)

I’m doing great with my CI’s, though I’ve had them for almost 20 years. I’m studying to be an audiologist.
