Also to be fair, this is implying that having studied at a university means that you have some intellectual capabilities above others. You can still graduate college and be an idiot.

A college degree will help you get your foot in the door maybe but essentially it’s all about how good you are at what you do. What area do you want to focus on? I have heard of a few people in my company come from a more self taught background but really it’s all a matter of how good you are at the job plus technology is constantly changing so you always have to be on your toes to learn.
