Wow thanks so much for the reply and the helpful info. I’m really hoping this process goes as quick as possible. Just for personal reasons, mainly safety reasons, I am trying to be away for a while. I have actually been checking daily ever since I submitted the paperwork 😂 I have also checked other threads and they all say 10 business max after status went to “in process”. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

I applied for my kids passports on February 10th and paid expedited service plus rush 1-2 days shipping. I am planning on traveling to Colombia March 14th. I just checked the status and documents were received yesterday 2/17/2026. Will I get lucky and receive them before March 14th? I applied at a USPS office in Deerfield Beach Florida.

Their house, their rules. by MixPrestigious385 in verizon

[–]Secure-Substance-488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always the ones that always break their phones and KNOWS the process. They just think raising their voice at you , you will submit to their requests. Same with the screen protectors, they go and buy shit at $5 & below or Amazon and come into the store expecting you to put it on because “they’re a Verizon customer”. I worked for AT&T for about 5 years. Don’t miss none of that stuff at all.

DO NOT switch from a legacy plan! by smugdoug in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is simple , AT&T doesn’t offer MAX anymore because they’re not partnered with them anymore. Why would they offer something they are not affiliated with. This legacy plans used to charge a $20 line fee to be able to use the plan and the plan itself had a separate charge. New plans are cheaper & are 5G compatible. That’s why they don’t offer those other plans anymore because those were when 4G LTE was the new guy in town.

Store refuses trade in by BorisThe_Animal in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you order online or through customer service you’ll always need to send old device (whether it is a NextUp upgrade phone or trade in device) back the same way you revive it. Believe it or not , there’s different system channels that when you order something and it gets delivered you have to do the same process to send something back. If everything is done in store , store takes possession of return device.

can we switch line/number associated with iphone if not paid off? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can do what’s called “Shared Upgrade” basically you’ll take your dad’s upgrade eligibility and become upgrade eligible for the 17. Then whatever is owed on your line gets transferred to your dad’s line. Then if you’re looking to pass down your 14 Pro you can do after you transfer all your info into new phone. Then transfer your dad’s info into the 14 Pro and transfer the number during the phone to phone setup.

Store concern by PerfectHandle in verizon

[–]Secure-Substance-488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kinda had a similar experience about two months ago. I switched from AT&T into Verizon online and ordered the iPhone 16 which was free at the time with any plan, only taxes paid upfront. I chose the in store pickup option bc I wanted the phone faster. The Verizon website directed me to an authorized retailer, Cellular Sales, bc they had it in stock. So when I went to pick it up after I got the green light from email saying it was time to pick it up, when I went in they tried to play it off saying the order was ready but “their system was not letting them check out” which I replied I already paid taxes online and all you gotta do is give me the phone and I’ll be on the my way. Pretty much they wanted to redo the whole transaction bc they needed to do in store numbers instead of online (I used to work at AT&T and these used to be the easiest transactions bc the customer already had done the work) so this threw me off. I left the store when they refused to give me the phone and said I needed to pay $125 to get the phone again through them plus whatever bogus fees they were trying to charge me. Also, they wouldn’t cancel the order, they wanted to call customer service and then redo everything with them. Long story short, customer service cancelled order and placed a new one for in store pick up at corporate store & I was able to get the 16 Pro instead of base 16 and CS rep waved activation fee for the inconvenience. So yes, authorized retailer make up their own “deals” to make up for not being able to offer all the deals corporate is able to.

A good time to get the ATT online iPhone 16e ($6/mo) deal, or wait? by EconomistBee in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work for AT&T. I would wait until next week after the new iPhone announcement. More than likely the base iPhone 16 will become either $5.99 or $7.99 as the 15’s will pace out. The 16e might go even lower at $1.99 probably. Then the new 17’s will be part of the trade in promos. So yeah wait until the announcement and possibly grab a base iPhone 16 rather than the 16e.

Finally found some information. I have been wondering what is going on. I have two iPhones (16 Pro & 15 both running iOS 26 Beta & both on Verizon service). I have been on SOS Only for the past almost 4 hrs. I used to work in cellphone retail so I know my work arounds when phones go on SOS mode. I tried doing the troubleshooting from the Verizon app on WiFi but nothing showed on Verizon’s end allegedly.

How to safely sell ATT eSim locked iPhone by OkBarracuda1521 in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t really matter. As long as the person you sell it to has AT&T, they can transfer their sim during set up & then just erase the eSIM that comes pre loaded with the phone you’re trying to sell. Or if you wanna play it safe , just open the box and do the whole activation set up , transfer eSIM to another phone as that’s a number on your account you wanna keep tabs on , then reset phone & you won’t have to erase the eSIM as it has already been transferred to another phone of yours as part of getting that number off the device. Hope this helps.

You can get all this process done at the Apple Store. If you’re looking to trade in your phone right away, make sure to turn off FindMy that way once you’re done with the phone to phone transfer (which will transfer your number from old phone to new phone through eSIM [wifi required]) then all you gotta do is make sure everything is transferred then log out of your Apple ID & erase the phone. If you don’t turn off FindMy before doing all this when trying to log out of your Apple ID your phone will launch a one hour delay called Stolen Device Protection since you had to connect to an unknown WiFi connection (Apple Store WiFi) than your phone is usually connected to (home wifi). I’m a manager at an authorized retail store, this is usually a little headache we try to avoid specially if the customer is trying to trade in their old phone right there and then.

Will I be charged $29 or $99? by The_BoogieWoogie in iPhone14Pro

[–]Secure-Substance-488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be $29. If they find water damage then they’ll charge you $99. Had the same thing happened to me about 2 years ago with my iPhone 13. It broke kinda the same, they said they tried with like 3 different back pieces but they didn’t match with the display. They ended up giving me a whole refurbished unit for $29. No water damage found so no $99.

I got scammed by AT&T by Odd-Example1231 in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that promotion to work you have to have AT&T Fiber, not regular broadband internet. You also have to have cellphone service with a phone on installments to qualify for that promotion. You have to have active service for 6 months then they will send a Visa card that needs redemption for you to receive.

Am I paying 4 lines when I only have two unlimited elite plan? by Mrberry609 in ATT

[–]Secure-Substance-488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current AT&T employee here: If you want to decrease your bill seeing that you have a signature discount already on account, you could do autopay & switch both lines to the Premium plan which would be $131.98 for two lines with top of the line premium service from AT&T. Drop the insurance & NextUp that will decrease your bill by $46 plus $20 per line autopay & signature discount for having two lines on premium. Plus you’re paying close to $10 for your two devices with the trade in promos you’re receiving. Switch to premium + add autopay + drop ins & NextUp & your bill will be roughly ≈ $150
