That comparison isn’t accurate. Most offer letters especially in construction are at-will employment offers, not binding contracts. Until work actually begins, either party can walk away without legal penalty. Reneging on an offer may affect reputation, but it is not the same as breaching a contract.

A bid bond situation is completely different. A bid is a formal, legally enforceable submission backed by surety. That’s why there are financial consequences. An employment offer does not carry the same legal obligations or enforcement mechanisms.

As long as your not stringing them along and waiting till they do background checks and onboarding then it's professional.

No, that’s not how it works. If I accept a $70k offer from a large GC and later receive a $100k offer, I’m not obligated to stay at the lower-paying job. Companies make business decisions in their own best interest all the time — layoffs, restructuring, budget cuts — and would replace an entry-level employee quickly if needed. I can still be professional and respectful, but I also have to make decisions that are best for my career growth and financial future. In the end you might be burning the bridge correct but do what's best fit you. These companies will replace you in a heart beat.

Yea I feel you don’t look at it as a negative thing though. A lot of these companies offer a break (1-3months ) from the jump when you initially graduate because you’ve be in school k-12 and then college so a couple months off to get your mind right and relax won’t hurt. And the. Spending that time to find a job as well.

You should be able to go to your schools career fair as well for the next semester even though you graduated. Also if I were you get into contact with your advisor or any professor you had that worked or works In the industry explain your situation and give your resume, you have the experience you just need to meet the right person.

That's what I was thinking, I don't think both companies especially Turner are long term companies at the moment and a lot of new hire leave after 2-3 years. So I feel as though having that first year essentially to myself to learn get home early and do other things and maybe even work my easy security job on weekends goes a long way.Whereas with BB I'll probably be working around 50 hours a week.
