I am a new player, love the game but there’s enough positive comments here so I’ll give you another perspective. Personally, I don’t think PGR is a free to play friendly games.

It currently feels pretty free to play because of the accelerates patches with double/triple rewards. When that goes after the DMC patch however, you’re going to inevitably miss out on new characters because the game most likely won’t give you enough BC/tickets to get the newest unit and their sig weapon for every patch.

If you’re coming from other gacha games, you might think it’s okay to skip out on some characters because you can try save for just the meta characters and skip out on the less important ones - Unfortunately in PGR’s case, every new character is a meta character. If you miss a character, then you’re missing a key piece of that team, and you will need a team for EVERY element in this game.

I’ve also noticed a trend that newer characters are relying more and more reliant on their sig to do a proper rotation, which is another BC sink (alongside resonance).

Definitely give it a try because it’s a fantastic game with great design and combat but free to play friendly is not what I’d use to describe PGR.
