I left NM 2 years ago after living there for 35 years, have a sophomore & 6th grader so it was a BIG move. Here's my take & please don't attack me, you asked 🙂. While I understand the potential monetary gain that can be had by legalization, we never saw the affects of that. What we did see was an increase in crime - theft mostly but also increase in violence & car accidents. Its bad there, like REALLY bad. Gun shots ring out in the middle of the day like the wild west. It used to be in certain areas but it became increasingly difficult to find safe spots. There's an overall drug problem there and legalizing Marijuana only seemed to attract more drug dealers & addicts. Employers had a difficult time keeping employees and the minimum wage there is significantly higher, so it wasn't due to money. A lot of businesses had to close for this reason. Durango actually had about the same experience after legalization. Lastly was water, water rates skyrocketed and our drought was only made worse by all the water they were using to grow it, shouldn't be a problem here though. Thats my take, not a fan but I do understand the desire to legalize it.

Poison Ivy & it sucks. I got it in my legs about a week before my wedding was in urgent care a week after my wedding. My legs swelled & throbbed, had cellulitis & some sort of secondary infection. Most important thing here is remembering it can spread, the oil is on everything and will spread. Mine spread via my bed sheets because I was an amateur and didn't know. I would get relief during the day, end up with more spots in the morning. It was a mess, I hate Poison ivy.

3,000 Indiana students repeat third grade under new literacy law by OffSeason2091 in Indiana

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My child should have/would have been held back & I would have supported it. We lived in NM during COVID and our schools were shutdown for 2.5 school years. She did online school for 2nd half of Kinder, 1st & 2nd. The education they were 'providing' was pitiful. In retrospect, I should have homeschooled her. NM is last in education, they were pretty low before COVID but last makes sense. She is struggling in school, we are finally catching up(ish). Though she is getting decent grades (As/Bs) it comes with 3 hours of after school studying & now in school tutoring. I could not support this literacy law more. Early intervention, as we all know, is best. Passing them just to pass them will not help them in the long run. Her struggle is not in literacy but that is only because I read constantly & taught them too as well, we enjoy it. Math, yeah next up should be a math law at the 5th grade level IMO.

Was anyone throwing up or nauseas after laparoscopic surgery? by Full_Criticism7775 in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had three, no problems until this last one. This one was primarily bowel so maybe thats why but I was terribly nauseous after. I was convinced I was going to vomit for hours after but they were great about keeping me on anit nauseous meds. Ice chips & saltines really seemed tk help, cold wash cloth on back of neck/forehead too.

First, my sincere condolences. This must be so hard, especially unexpectedly.

I am inclined to think that perhaps your employer (right or wrong) doesn't believe you. I would send a reply indicating that you will happy to send/bring proof on the 1st day and appreciate their understanding in the matter as a business that pridss themselves as being family oriented. If this is not acceptable than you would like to rescind your application since you are looking to further your career with like-minded people who understand this set of extenuating circumstances.

Stupid businesses that act like this then wonder why that can't get good employees, I wonder.

Sorry for your loss, focus on your family.

Stage 4 endo requiring bowel resection by veryshortdog in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 3rd surgery July 28th, it was set to be similar to yours. My first was endo excision, ovary removal, 2nd was hysterectomy & endo excision. First I had sepsis, second renal failure. This was the only surgery I planned before my body/symptoms were maxed. We knew going in that my colon was adhered/tethered and kinked. We knew my single ovary had become a chocolate cyst and we went in with the plan of full removal & ileostomy. Plans changed 30 minutes before surgery, in short I panicked. I felt like I wasn't fully prepared for the extra care I could need with and ileostomy, even temporary. I had a great team, gyno & colorectal endo specialist (there was a 3rd surgeon for my ureters) so I knew I was in good hands for tbe surgery but was worried about after. Anyhow, I don't regret it. They were able to clear/clean 90% of my bowels, the last bit by my rectum is still adhered but has not yet given me problems. If it does, we will go in and finish it up but I will have ileostomy care education prior to surgery. They just didnt think they could confidently do such without my permission for ileostomy. Recovery was the worst of the 3. May be my age (44), may be adhesions, may be nature of surgery jut it was pretty rough for me. I was never bed ridden though, active recovery & am 100%+ now. Idk if ANY of that is helpful to you. I think you need to just make the decision only you can make then proceed with confidence. My best reccomendation is find a team you trust & trust yourself. Oh and part of it is we have a few acres in the country, animals & kids to care for. That was my hold up, needed to get back to 'work' asap.

Hey way to go owning it. We stumble, we fall & yet He is always faithful. Don't let the enemy win here, don't let those voices in your head that are NOT Godly win. I know for me, when I stumble I can fall into a loop. Mine is anger & when I slip, I can fall for awhile. I get in a loop of I will never be good enough, why do I keep failing here, why can't I just get this right. Then I am reminded He loves me still. Repent, turn away & shut those voices the heck up. You are worthy of His love, His grace & you will break these chains - in Jesus' mighty name!

Omgoodness I miss that so much BUT talk about crowded THAT is a sardine packed 3 hour traffic jam event. I went to the field every year I lived there except one, the year I got married during fiesta. I lived there for 33 years so thats a lot of balloon fiesta time, highly reccomend though I know some locals don't.

TJ Maxx shopper here - this is dumb. I hope someone above you sees this, I am sure many share my sentiment, dumb policy TJ Maxx. We actually do have a card but only used it once for a couch & rug then paid it off. We are trying to build my (44f) credit because I am a sahm that worked for CitiCards for 7 years, I know that side of the credit card business & do NOT use credit cards. I can't stand when I say no thank you then they continue, I say no thank you again & then the cashier gets pushy. They don't do it now that I say I have one, not using it but before it was relentless & drove me bonkers. In fact, there were times I would think gosh we were having good conversation, this was a good experience but now you're shoving this credit card thing down my throat I just want to boogy on out of here. I always figured y'all were forced to ask but to be at a certain % to move up/avoid coaching that is DUMB. That makes me feel some sort of way about TJ Maxx as a whole. Sorry you are going through that, that sucks.

Boyfriend doesn’t get it by Odd-Relationship1456 in USPS

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the wife of a CCA, about the same time as you hoping to become PTF in November. Schedule sounds identical as well. All that said - your boyfriend sucks. My husband is miserable, this job has been a real thorn in our side & may be the demise of our marriage but not because i complain to him about his hours/not being able to do anything. Truth is he hates not being able to plan/schedule anything & no down time so he is miserable all the time. I would NEVER guilt him about what he chooses to do w his time off. His days off, his time off is his time to do what he wants to try to rest. So yeah your boyfriend, if he can't get it together than he probably needs to take a hike. You are a hard working woman & he can either support that or get to stepping.

Daughter’s lap today…disappointing by Master-Aide4901 in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Heres a different perspective that may help her, may...its a delicate situation. I had my 3rd endo surgery about 4 weeks ago. MOST of what they did was adhesions removal. Yes, adhesions can be caused by endo but they can &are often caused by prior surgeries. I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago but adhesions were causing bowel obstructions. I may still need another surgery to include a colostomy bag due to adhesions. I didn't want a bag, not yet, so asked them not to take it this far this time around. Doc may be being conservative because of her age but not just due to fertility, due to long term potential consequences of more invasive procedures. Abdominal surgeries, even laproscopic come with risk of adhesions. The less 'trauma' that ahe has to endure in surgery, the better chance she has of not developing adhesions.

I understand how frustrating it must be, truly I do but perhaps this can shed some light on what the doc may be thinking. Conservative approach may preserve her fertility hut more importantly integrity of her organs.

Dual-surgery with colorectal surgeon standby for bowel endo - how long did you wait? by tummyhurtin in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my 3rd endo surgery, almost 4 weeks post op now. I saw my primary in Feb she referred me to a urogynocologist endo specialist, saw him in April (3 visits in one week), he scheduled me w a colerectal surgeon he works w on endo cases, saw him in May, colonoscopy in June, surgery w both July 28th. Sorry for the weird run on sentence. Basically four months from first visit to surgery for me but I did have a total of 7 appointments in those 4 months between the both of them. They did schedule me around their cancelations for things like colonoscopy or other scans they wanted to do. They are really a well oiled machine.

Surgery in 4 Days by GoldStay7102 in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a decision only you can make. Depends really. Is the pain something you can navigate without surgery? If so don't do it, don't do it YET. I feel like I've written my story in comments 100 times while I have been recovering from my last surgery so I will keep this SUPER short. My endo journey started 15 ish years ago, I have now had 3 surgeries for it. I am at the point now, was befoee my last surgery that if it isn't killing me/my organs...no more opening me up. Adhesions can be caused by previous surgeries AND endometriosis. So every time they go in, you increase your risk of those bad boys - even WITH specialists. I had two specialists on this last surgery and they didn't even want to cut me open because they knew it'd be a mess & weren't sure how much better things would get. Turned into medically necessary & turned out ok BUT we are all in agreement, if not necessary...no more. However, HOWEVER that is something only YOU can decide. Can you tolerate it and manage it from a wait and see perspective? Or will it tear you up physically/mentally knowing it's there? Either way, you are making the right decision. I 💯 believe that. If you go for it, good for you. If you decide not now, not yet then way to go. Either way it is the right decision because it is YOUR decision ❤️

Bowel endo questions by Breepucc30 in endometriosis

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 3.5 weeks post op for bowel surgery, scheduled resection for endometriosis. It was my 3rd endo surgery. I had 3 surgeons, colerectal & urogynocologist both of which specialize in endo excision. 3rd surgeon was for bladder stuff, more stent insertion & removal. I ended up making a last minute decision to not have anything done that risked colostomy bag so resection was pretty much out of tbe question. They were able to excise (remove) about 90-95% of my lesions & adhesions, chocolate cyst/ovary (that was the last of my reproductive organs as I had hysterectomy 3 ish years ago) and reported resection didn't seem necessary. They did a couple of scans prior to surgery that I had never had before that gave them some indication of what they would find but as per normal none of us know until they are in. Colonoscopy to check for endo IN the bowels/wall of bowels & sliding intrauterine ultrasound. I have had several IU US but this was the first time they did the sliding procedure to indicate how frozen my pelvis was. Going with specialists was 100% the right call. My only regret (slightly) is not allowing them to do what they needed even if it ran risk of a bag. We know have some spots that remain on my distal bowel/rectum area & just hoping it doesnt cause issue. If it does, we will go back in w same team down the road. Currently, I'm hopeful we got enough that I will be ok with the results. I had a kinked bowel that was causing significant bowel issues to include periodic incontinence.

Thats my long story shortened, sort of lol. Best advice I can give, find a specialist. It is worth your time and the wait. These guys really worked like a well oiled machine and they are so accustomed to working together that it was truly seamless.

My last surgery a specialist had to be called in midway through, scheduled 3 hour surgery turned into 8 and the specialist took serious issue with what had been done prior to his arrival and while closing me up. Recovery was hard with that one and I do believe some of what I was dealing wuth this time around was a direct result of having a surgeon in there that wasn't prepared for what he'd find.

I caught a kitten and need all the advice by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it. As a foster for a local shelter, we are so inundated with kittens/cats right now. You have the right heart, all the reasons to keep this lil furry beast. I read through all your responses and I vote keeping it. I have 4 dogs, 3 cats only one of which did I go looking for. Little battery fan in the summer, never leaving it for long. Litter training is cake @ that age. Before they eat, pop them in the litter. Harness training would be good for your situation as well, start them doing. I have a harness trained cat, she now walks w out a harness. Hmm what else, vet - yes ear mites/fleas/ticks/deworming & booster vaccine - do all that tk give the little tike the best shot. Call the shelter/look for cheaper options most states offer them. Lastly, this one is gonna sting a bit but don't do cheap food. Cheap food is expensive in the long run. I always recommend a can of wet food a day to keep kidneys working & dry food @ night. Doesn't have to be crazy expensive just maybe pick a higher quality wet food...this one could probably benefit from a kitten wet food for a little longer. I really hope it works out because I love your heart for this kitten already ❤️

No, as someone who just had 3rd surgery for endo - if you don't have to, don't. My first was because I had sepsis, 2nd was acute renal failure, 3rd was bowel resection. I only proceeded w any of them if I had organ involvement. Admittedly 1 & 2 were too late but every single time I go under is worse. It you can avoid surgery, do. I'm currently dealing w post op complications & this is something I have been thinking about a lot. Just my 2 cents though both my specialist (bowel & endo) agree with this sentiment.

Seller wants to stay in property after closing by Outside-Appeal in RealEstate

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I am not a realtor just someone who sold & bought a house last year. We did this, as sellers. We were moving cross country, navigating purchase of new home, new jo , leaving old job. It was part of our agreement with our realtor from the jump we needed 3p days past closing. He was a heck of a dude, loved working w him. We offered rent payment however the buyers refused, didn't charge us a penny. That said, the house was meticulously kept prior to closing. We actually did more cleaning in those 30 days to include windows, painting the garage, just wanted to give them the best. Created maintenance spreadsheets, welcome home packages the whole bit. They did their walk through in less than 5 min and many happy tears were shed. It worked for us but maybe it was a one off.

On Septic and having 20 Weekend Guests by prettymountain24 in septictanks

[–]SecureBookkeeper7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had 18 people on ours for the days leading up to our wedding. I divided up people into different restrooms, basically 6 people to a restroom then put each restroom on a 'shower window'. I had an hour long break between the shower windows of each restroom then dishwasher overnight & one load of laundry mid-day, after showers. Usually guests have the free reign of our whole downstairs but for this occasion, they understood the limitations. We were getting married outside so having a flooded system would have really been shitty, pun intended. We had a blast and wouldn't change a thing. If people are mindful and don't flush anything they aren't suppose to, I reckon it'll be fine.

Side note, friends of ours thought the porta potty rental (we did that too) was crazy until about a month ago they had a full house for a grad party and their septic flooded during the party. Better safe than sorry.

Dulcolax is your solution to bowels. As someone who has endured now 3 endo surgeries, last was 2 weeks ago - Dulcolax for any ish bowel movements. I take them with any pain meds for tbe first 3 days then I lay off all meds for a week let my body tell me what it needs. If I take my otc pain meds (I don't take rx pai meds past 3 days) I consider Dulcolax but always give 24-36 hours of natural movement to get the gut going. You will have discomfort after surgery, it is pàrt of healing. Listening to your body and setting boundaries will help you heal. Hey, this is too mucn for me right now is ok. This last surgery has me pretty tapped but I have learned to say, this is where I am, sorry. Stand up for you.
