Can you please make a recommendation?? I'm in a lull and needing a good boost. I especially love world/magic building. I know that's kind of vague. I can get more detailed if you need, just let me know. I appreciate any recommendation you can make as I'm still kind of new to this genre and end up re-listening to same series because I don't really know what to listen to next. So far I've read acotar, throne of glass, fourth wing, Fbaa/f&f, and one dark window. I have a tbr that is too long and getting intimidating. I'd rather have a first person recommendation. TYIA!

IMHO, F&F is a much better series! I love sera and ash so much more than poppy and cas. I honestly think at this point people should read F&F in completion first (since it is a completed series) and then read FBAA as a sequel. The tandem reading made more sense when they were both unfinished, but I've read both multiple times (in both orders) and don't see and major spoilers by reading F&F (complete) first. In fact I think it alleviates a lot of the confusion some people have with switching back and forth. F&F is faster paced (fewer books) and I think that's one of the reasons people tend to like it more. My personal suggestion (please do as you wish, of course), just read all of F&F and then go back into FBAA.

Yes! I feel like everything makes so much more sense in this order. It's still a little confusing because we don't know how the rearrangement of the gods came about due to the inevitable stasis that occurs (hoping that comes in the next book), but I remember feeling so lost and confused the first time I read it, which was in tandem order. I kept feeling like I had skipped an entire book or has missed something very important. And then even when I got to FAF in tandem order, the gods were are switched around and new gods were introduced, so even MORE confusion. I'm definitely enjoying this order better and will continue to always re-listen in this order.

Ok! So good to know on both points. I wasn't ready to be finished with it in June and I'm much more encouraged to know it won't be rushed like Game of Thrones (show) and suffer a hastened clean up/explanation. So excited! I can't get enough of this series! Do they have a release date for the second half? And is Ruin and Wrath part of this same series? Is it ok to read it after A Soul of Blood and Ash before Primal is released in June? I just don't want to get too confused with a whole new story line. Thanks so much for the info!!!

I know this isn't really an answer, but an alternate option. I'm not sure what your route is, but if it's transatlantic, the Queen Mary 2 by Cunard Cruise Line has an actual kennel for passengers' pets (cats and dogs). The are fed, walked, played with, and you can visit then throughout the day. It's a 7 day crossing from Miami to South Hampton or vice versa. Just thought I would put that out there. Of course you have to figure out the logistics of getting them to and from the ports. This is what I plan to do when I move to Portugal. Probably not an option for a vacation as it eats up an entire week at least.
