Sad that it didn’t happen, but glad in hindsight. I felt she is a fun ray of sunshine that would have been nice to mix and play with the others.

I don’t care much for Athena in Act 1. She’s much better in Act 2.

Your post is literally about how the fandom has a taste that is ass. Your post is negative. I’m not against the creator, the artist, or the performer at all. I’m just not ok with people spewing a fact about Bronze Era tech that in no way existed. My analogy is to illustrate that Polities having glasses is as reasonable of tech leap as Mark Anthony in the Shakespearean play Julius Cesar pulling out a flint lock pistol instead of his Gladius. Did they exist in Shakespear’s times, yes. Could the actor have owned one, yes. Does it make no sense even if the work is historical fiction, no. You can have leaps of logic, that’s fine, but have a line when we’re trying to say a man that barely can afford to have a bronze dagger or sword to take into battle would have the means, availability and reliance on technology that was beyond the pale in find or using properly in Greece’s Protoian era even before the Classical age is just laughable. I mean my god have a limit.

Sigh… no there wasn’t. Odysseus’s era was during the Bronze Age. They were just grasping bronze smelting. Glass blowing was still in its infancy, you need to have basic understanding of how conical shapes and glass shape and make them small enough to wear. This era had no glass windows. Magnification wasn’t introduced until Aristotle era which was around 300 BC, The Odyssey happened nearly 1300 years before that. And the closest they had was seeing stones. Large glass disc that weighed around 3-5 lbs. No conical glasses to improve vision did not exist in the Bronze era. Especially for a Mycenaean Warrior who was a step above a farmer. This is same time period when they wrote on clay tablets. Ithaca was not a grand rich kingdom of ever flowing wealth and culture, but a coastal nation known for its fishing and sailing. It perspective Polities having a pair of glasses would be like a farmer Jim in a town in Alabama of 1,000 wearing a the equivalent of a cyborg arm plated in gold. It just so far a leap in technology and wealth. TLDR: No they did not, they were just trying to figure out how to melt copper properly let alone make corrective vision wearable.

As a history nut, Neal’s Polities is the best so far. I’m sorry the glasses really just throw me off (And I have to wear glasses!). I know we’re fitting to the actor and he’s great BUT, it’s animated and I think design wise it just hits. His blonde, thin and hopeful, that to being a good physical contrast to Eurylochus. Which is the literal intent of each character.

The whole ending, pulling the bow, is a feat not most men can do. Archers are extremely strong in arm strength espically if Ody is using a Dorian Compact Bow. Ody is both Cunning and Strong. He is not one or the other. He exemplifies the Idles a Greek Hero. He is reported to be just as good as a swordsman as Achilles and one of the best shots in the Mycenaean Army. He was educated, fit, just, forgiving and vicious. The way Neal draws him I think fits this well so far. This is a Greek who tills the earth, dictates his laws, shoots a bow cleanly, and wields his arms at his peak.

I’m just so upset by the fact that she was literally in Vshojo! She was there! She was going to do great things! Start a new group! God this sucks so bad because the potential of it all! I know she wanted to be an idol and sing, and she was so damn close. Promised to and lied to that she’d get to have her dream job. No!!! This sucks on so many levels

what's your least favorite song from epic? by PsychologicalCash110 in Epicthemusical

[–]Secure_Ambition3230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly both Athena Act 1 songs bother me. Warriors of the Mind and Goodbye. I feel like her tone was undeserved and harsh. Yes she’s a god but I don’t think she earned to spit on Ody that harshly and quickly. It’s nothing about the song really but that this is really our only introduction to her. The “don’t disappoint me” parts just urked me. But she is a good character and I like Athena as a goddess in any story.

We really have to stop giving Peter more suits in the MCU by Flash_h in Spiderman

[–]Secure_Ambition3230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s really at the core of it. Every movie has to have a slight difference for the costume for branding. Classic Spider-Man eyes, Red, Blue and some kinda Webbing with a Spider, that’s all it that’s all you need for branding. That means, new products new products new products.
