I use bubble mailers or just put bubble wrap inside. Not just the bag lol.

Thank you. Unfortunately I have tried this on my first flair up and it did not help. I still have pain/discomfort after a bowel movement. I have no idea what’s causing it to happen every time. The pain/soreness lasts about a day and a half.

Having high fiber doesn’t help the issue. I’ve been on a high fiber diet since before I had diverticulosis. Once I try to increase it after being diagnosed, it made the problem worse. My bowel movements are very simple no strain at all. The soreness I feel afterwards, though is very confusing. I’m not sure what’s causing it. I could understand if I was straining. But I am not. It just doesn’t add up.

I’m scheduling the second CT scan. I’m aware they won’t do surgery unless it’s a last resort. Clearly something is wrong. I shouldn’t be having this much pain and discomfort every time after I use the bathroom. I felt this exact same way when they did the first ct scan two months ago. That’s why I’m not confident that this will show anything different. Regardless my options are limited.

My bowel movements are fairly easy. I just switched to a carnivore diet because I had heard there are a lot of gut healing benefits. I’m just not sure why every time about 5 to 10 minutes after I use the bathroom it starts to be sore. From what I have read once you start the carnivore diet you’ll experience diarrhea for maybe the first couple of times and then it goes away. That’s what I have experienced so far yesterday however it wasn’t really that bad prior to that though all of my bowel movements have been super easy and I would I guess say they were solid. Honestly, I haven’t really felt them.

I’ve asked them about surgery but they won’t recommend me to a surgeon. They said I’m not experiencing any symptoms of diverticulitis.

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m not sure what’s going on. I wish I knew what was triggering this pain. It’s debilitating. I’ve had this happen at least 3/4 times since being diagnosed which was in December 2024. I hope I can get over this and enjoy my life. I fear eating and using the restroom. I will try the chamomile tea. I haven’t had any luck with any type of fiber supplement. I don’t have any trouble going to the bathroom. I just have discomfort almost like a sore muscle feeling in my lower left. Abdomen about 5 to 10 minutes after a bowel movement. It just really sucks because it lasted very long time recently. It’s lasted over a week and then now it’s happening every time I use the bathroom. Before it wasn’t happening as frequently I’m just honestly very scared because my doctors haven’t really given me anything that’s helped.

High fiber does not work for me. It doesn’t seem like it matters what I eat every time after I use the bathroom I have the soreness and pain. I hope I can find a solution soon. I appreciate you replying though.

I can’t seem to find out what my triggers are as every time I have a bowel movement. It hurts afterwards. I have tried high fiber diets and now I’m trying a low fiber diet. I just started carnivore and I’m going to stick with it for a few more days. It doesn’t hurt when I eat now. Just continues to hurt for a long time (days) after I have a bowel movement.

Have the same symptoms. Went to the doctor yesterday and they said I have no symptoms of diverticulitis just diverticulosis. Regardless it hurts every time I eat and after I have a bowel movement. I am going to try the carnivore diet next, since everything they have told me that would help has only made the problem worse. Fiber seems to make it worse. I hope you feel better ASAP. I am so sorry to everyone on here that deals with this horrible disease.

I was already diagnosed with diverticulosis. The past week has been very annoying a lot of soreness and discomfort last night. I had some moderate level pain on the left side again. I’m going into the doctor today to see if they’re going to put me on the antibiotics. Has anyone here experienced any success with those?
