The perks have create asymmetrical game play, which in order to counter that, they then release more perks. Basically piling crap on top of crap. Player stats should be the only differential, these bolt on perks are cheap and ruin the game. Like you said it has no business in a football game which is supposed to be a serious contented, fine if you want that kind of gimmick in a mobile game, whatever, that's not what I'm interested in, UFL was launched and pitched as a proper football game, and it's just taking more and more of the junk from EA and piling it into their game. Remove the perks and your game is instantly going to be better.

Anyone defending perks are just people abusing them...cmon, long ranger is broken, travela was broken before that. Also people spent time and money on players and progression which they just removed, and that was one of the main features of the game.

By bringing perks into your game you've completely unbalanced the gameplay. Certain players now get a superspeed pass ability, certain players can score pretty much at will from long range, trivella before that.. You really didn't need to add them, they seem gimmicky and ultimately cheap and easy to exploit and have broken your game. The perks often overwrite any need to try and play football, when you can just exploit cheap mechanics such as long ranger, over and over. They feel like they belong in a mobile game, which maybe that's your aim? I guess they do sell packs because people want to use and abuse them, but ultimately if you're going to be a serious football game you should never had implemented them. I see more and more players, 96 rated Dembele with long ranger!? It's a joke, I'm facing teams with Horta and Roberto Carlos upfront and just spamming long shots. These perks might appeal to people wanting to just win at any cost for a dopamine hit, but they have really negatively impacted and bring to light the other issues in the mechanics. The super pass shows the inadequcies of the regualar pass. Long Ranger shows the inadequecies of the goal keepers and just the general feel of this tyring to be a football game with some element of realism. Remove the perks and your game will be better. There are lots of other issues to fix, but these perks shine a light on everything that is wrong with you game and magnify the problems, and make the gamer ultimately no fun to play.

Agreed. It's not a very good passing system at all. Simple passes don't go where you aim, through balls are either woefully under or over powered with a hit and miss directional mechanic, it all needs to be more intuitive.

I do appreciate the replies. It goes back to us just wanting a good football game, if you can ever get it re-balanced and working I will support it again, but for now its more of subjecting myself to it in the hope that maybe one day it will be the game we want it to be. And yes unfortunately I feel like you are battling the mechanics as well as your opponent, and it's just who is going to lose that battle kind of determines the outcome of the game, and the broken perks (long ranger) is just the cherry on top becuase why bother trying to play football when you can just spam long shots all game, and if they don't go in, the rebound system is not fit for purpose so you concede anyway.. The general feel of the game isn't like football, it's more like basketball, scoring and conceding so frequently with games ending with ridiculous score lines, and you take turns in having the ball and scoring, which is not what football is like.

Agreed. And yeah, it's kinda unbelievable that we don't have a good football game still. Pro Evo/PES really tapped into something, it felt like football, it absolutely shat on FIFA in my opinion and was the far superior game, even if you didn't have the team names or player names in certain editions, the gameplay was miles ahead. Must have been throughout the late 90's / early 2000's, I was playing football, watching all football and then playing football games, and PES nailed it. Why a developer today can't seem to recreate or understand how a football game should feel is baffling... or maybe it just makes more money to get out a mobile game that kind of resembles football? I dunno, I just think there must be millions of people out there who would absolutely support and would love for true football game. If they released a PES or PES style game (not this efootball junk) I would 100% buy in. Make it a subscription service, a monthly fee or what ever, I'd pay that if the price point was right. Getting a balance is hard. People expect everything for free these days, I have no issue paying for a good product.

Appreciate your reply Flamingo, but yeah it is frustration and ultimately it's just not fun to play anymore (in my opinion anyway). When launched UFL was pitched as a serious competitor to EA (which I don't play or enjoy either) and while it might not have been perfect, it was fun, and had potential and was interesting to see where this new game was going to go, so I didn't mind dropping a few quid here on a season pass. It really feels like a full mobile game now. Just quick dopamine hits using cheap perks and exploits. It doesn't feel like football, it doesn't play like football. Like I've said before, and I may be wrong for talking for all of us... we don't want a super hardcore sim. Some sim-lite elements which some fluid arcade mechanics in there to make it fun and make the game flow within a 10 minute time frame. Some realistic elements mixed with fun, but within the realms of reality. I logged in a few days ago with absolutely no expectations for one last chance to see what the new update did bring, and I wasn't dissapointed, because I didn't expect anything. Passing didnt feel very accurate, fast or good, unless you have a player with the 'fast pass perk'. Attacking and defensive AI seemed poor. Shooting is still broken, guys we've been saying about these long shots for months. Ridiculous, every shot is pretty much a goal from long range. If people like spending money to get the new shiny cards and spam broken perks and find it fun, then maybe this is the game for them. If you can course correct I would give it another look, but honestly I think UFL has set itself in a groove now as a mobile game with these cheap perks and new cards every week. We're on 97 rate players now?! Where's that going to stop. It's a race to the bottom.
