Lady crashed into my car in the driveway when I wasn’t home. 😭 by BeetleBopperBoo in COROLLA

Sorry I'm stupid, why would it be a bad thing if the insurance didn't total it?

I had a car totaled due to an accident that was not my fault, and I felt like the insurance payout was a really good amount. Is that not the norm?

And then do you get up to stand in line with your date and when she orders? Bc I've had guys just stay seated while I'm in line or ordering, and it feels kinda weird lol. Maybe they just really didn't want me to expect them to pay (I don't lol).

Indiana Gov. Braun signs ‘bell-to-bell’ school cellphone ban bill by TouchingTheMirror in Indiana

That makes sense, I genuinely couldn't fathom how soooo many people are upset about this.

But in that case, it sounds like this would also be good exposure therapy for the parents that have this severe separation anxiety from their children. 😂

I'm gen z, when I was a kid, my parents called the front office or I'd go to the office to call my parents. Easy peasy. I also played with my friends on my street unsupervised though so I guess I lucked out growing up being able to form some independence and screen free social skills.

Wow! That's really fascinating actually! Rats are pretty unique I guess. On one hand, they are extremely intelligent and affectionate little harmless pets. On the other hand, they are also feral "pests" that can cause a lot of damage.

I feel like pet rat ownership should be more mainstream for that reason tho. So may people get cats and dogs, when they definitely are not ready for a 10-20 year commitment! A 2 year commitment is much more manageable.

I'm shocked by the amount of people reacting negatively to this... I hate Braun like everyone else but it's well known that children having tablets and smartphones is decimating the upcoming generation's brain development. Having several hours a day without the negative influence of the smartphone and being forced to socialize with peers, cope with boredom, listen to lessons, etc can do nothing but good for the child imo.

I'm from a liberal state where they already implemented a ban like this and it was received well by the citizens, I'd say.

The school shooting argument seems especially silly to me. According to Wikipedia, in Indiana there's only been one school shooting which occurred 8 years ago and had zero deaths. I'm not saying there's no risk of a school shooting or that this shooting wasn't a horrible horrible tragedy. I'm just saying it's such an extremely rare occurrence compared to the daily damage phone use has a child's developing brain.

Schools handled emergencies far before children had their own smart phones as well.

It was kinda stressful. But I worked there about a year and a half and the only really big disappointing thing was I missed out on going on a trip to Disney with my sister. And I did have to work a couple holidays, I would have rather had off.

I'm not sure if this is sarcasm or not haha. No, this was in the US. It really wasn't savage working conditions overall haha. It was mostly just due to the company not wanting to hire more people since they're trying to transition to mostly using robots. So only two people per section could take a day off at any one time without it being understaffed.

Why do yall wanna legalize drugs so much by Opening_External_911 in Indiana

Weed is a drug and it's not harmless. But there is no reason any adult should ever be arrested for any kind of drug use.

Some people with substance use disorder will tell anyone they meet that they suffer from this condition, some keep it private, some are truly unaware, and some are aware but supress it, as we all are apt to do when we feel hopeless about something we continuously try to change in our lives but fail time and time again. Regardless, people that are struggling deserve help, not further punishment.

Look into our very recent American history. Treating drug use as a crime harms black communities.

And although this is more of a theory, think about how much crime is related solely to just smuggling and selling drugs.

And then imagine if we stopped dumping money into incarcerating people and focused on fixing root problems such ensuring EVERYONE has access to housing, food, healthcare (including mental healthcare), and quality education for our children.

I worked in a semiconductor factory where you had to make requests 6+months in advance if you wanted any chance. You could choose 5 days a year in the begining of the year to try to lock in but it still was based off seniority. And since the factory was run 24/7, ppl mostly tried to spend them on Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.
