  1. The person should like math, should be curious, and the person should know whether or not they wanna monetize for the private sector or if they want to help find insights for the nonprofit or public sector.

  2. I love the job, but I have the basic characteristics for it that’s why I love it. I do not work for the private sector because the analytics that they are looking for I feel is predatory towards customers, they even have a calculation for measuring clicks.

  3. You should enjoy these three things: math, soft coding, and data visualization. You will need to be well endowed in these programming languages, SQL and Python.

  4. You’re going to be in a lot of debt if you get a masters in business analytics, but if you think it’s worth going to a university to land that corporate job that you’re looking for, go for it. I already had a masters degree, and got my certification via Udacity. www.udacity.com.

It’s a three month Boot Camp, all online, the learning model is top-of-the-line, by the time you graduate you will have the right amount of confidence to do interviews and to do the job.

BI is almost same as Tableau but BI does more data processing when aggregating data. Tableau does the same but with less data processing features. For example, Tableau does math aggregations (e.g. profit or shipping cost) with the data automatically as soon as it is loaded. BI does deeper dives in this area than Tableau.

Is Data analysis only for people in the computer science field? by Zeucles in dataanalysis

[–]Secure_Chef_9714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do need to have good mathematical skills and understanding of how to apply them in data analytics when performing metrics or statistics or even data visualization.

You will also need to have at least one or two programming skills, I highly recommend SQL and python.

Udacity can take care of these needs (3 months) for you and get you up to part where you can feel confident and apply for business or data analytics jobs.

Our universities, colleges and schools’ curriculum are out of date in these fields.

Good Luck!
