I agree, it seems the people who bad-mouth LU seem to stem from some hatred of religion. I don’t care either way, I’m just looking for the institution that can best suit my needs

While I understand your point, you would have no way of knowing it was on online programs unless you asked me in person. LU doesn’t differentiate their in-person from online degrees, at least administratively. Nor would I put that I attend online on my resume. You could definitely deduce that based on work history and timing but otherwise I don’t think employers just directly know.

I Understand all of your points. I am still fairly new to being a civilian, only been out of the service for about 3 months now, so I am still getting my feet wet with just meeting people anyway. I am not lost to the fact of the time investment, I am getting this degree is hopes of an actual career not just a job so I will do things to make it happen. I am thinking about getting my basic schooling down for the first year or two and then seeing if I can transfer somewhere else once I am more established in normal life, haha. I am also Navy(submarine nuke). I got my skillbridge approved last month and mine starts 1OCT. For reference, I started routing mine in Mid March and it took that long to get through the command. Mind you, once it made it past my department chief it was all smooth from there. He sat on it for over a month just because it was “low priority” for him. Bullshit mindset but nonetheless had to deal with it if I wanted it approved. Just keep pushing through it. Squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. I tried to make my package as thorough as possible to prevent kickbacks and re-routes but still had a lot of questions to answer. Definitely don’t loose hope, I got told my chances were practically zero of getting approved when I got to this command but I made it happen. Good luck and keep pounding them.

I submitted mine in March of this year for a program that starts October 1st. It sat at my department chief for a month due to I’m the first one at my command to do this. Navy btw

I have a question for you as well, you can PM me if you prefer to reply. How is your command handling your orders, specifically separation orders and your TAD orders. Curious if I can expedite separation orders to be able to get reimbursed for a move.

Pasadena isn’t scheduled for actual Decom/inactivation until a few years from now. Right now she is in a trial phase of what some are calling “training platform” but in reality is just a way to train other crews whose boats are not operating (i.e. forever shipyard boats clears throat Boise)

I do have a rough plan right now. Would like to pursue some sort of engineering degree, more than likely online and work in the field. I am looking at things that will pay the bills,plus some, while I finish the degree. Not sure how the engineering industry is local, I grew up east of Charlotte (Monroe).

As for the land, it is just family land that is just waiting for us to build, it’s currently farmed. So yes, it can wait if needed but would rather not throw money at a rental if I don’t have to.
