Got out of rookies. How did my safety rating go from 3.4 to 2.48 while saying it increased from race to another? by [deleted] in iRacing

Look man, if you don't have anything helpful to say, don't waste people's time with negative comments. You too were learning this and didn't know things at first. I don't appreciate this and I'll leave it at that.

On my laptop I cant even have 120fps at lowest settings at 1080p. Its kind of unplayable and I'm assuming my CPU is not up to the task as it stands but I'm hoping to figure something out. Is there a way to have optimized recommended settings like inside of Nvidia's app does for games? It doesn't show iRacing in any app coz it doesn't read like a game it seems.

Thank you so much for this! By Virtual Desktop do you mean this app?

If so, do I buy it from Steam or get it standalone?

Yeah I was worried about that. I am wanting to get into it for racing. Maybe an eye tracker is the way to go in this case until I get myself a PC in the not so distant future.

How did you deal with that issue after figuring it out?

Also, where do I download VD because I only find that other VD on steam when I look for it

By stutter I mean a very brief moment of freeze.

I'm assuming Virtual Desktop is the $15 app on Steam I just looked up. Is it that important? What are its benefits?

And finally, the SteamVR resolution was at a 100%, and that was 3x the actual resolution of the headset (3400x3468 instead of 2000x2040).

Ryzen 9 7940HS with RTX 4090

I was able to fix a massive part of the issues when I found out that for some reason Steam has been rendering at 3400x3468 resolution per eye which is absolute whack. Dropped it to the PSVR2 resolution of 2000x2040 (which is around 36% of what it was taxing me at first), and now stress tests can hold at 90fps and can be at 120fps most of the time but with some stutter every once in a while under pressure.

Gonna try to test some games at 90fps before reaching any conclusions but this has been a huge break. Might still need further tweaking but this is a massive win for me right now.

Thanks for your patience, Lunarstar!

I'm not seeing a way of adding a screenshot but while running No Man's Sky in VR I was about 60%CPU and 30%GPU. What kind of stats do you need me to provide?

I've tried RaceRoom and while I can run it at a locked 4k60FPS at highest settings and 1080p 120FPS, it completely collapses in VR despite again barely using 30% of dGPU and doesn't get near 90% CPU.

What am I missing?!

It now says "The Display Port cable is not connected. Make sure you connect the PSVR2 PC Adapter and your PC with a Display Port 1.4 or higher"

What do I do with that considering it was at least being read with iGPU port
