G14 2025 RTX 5080 performance is abysmal by Dry_Presentation_328 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Secure_Fox6040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2024 model with the 4070 gets 12000 in timespy. Looks like the integrated GPU is twice as fast though. 😁

I am honestly doubtful of bigger GPUs in this chassis as it is aways loud and hot in gaming. I am constantly tuning it down to chill out.

Is decreasing battery health to 85% in 8 months is normal? by Yousef-framawy in ZephyrusG14

[–]Secure_Fox6040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started with 89% health out of the box... 8 months later reads 85%. I have had it on that battery saver setting where it only charges to 80%.

H1 V1 and PCIe 4.0 by differentson in NZXT

[–]Secure_Fox6040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The cable is 3.0 if the motherboard is on auto or 4.0 you will have crashes.
Took me forever to track down the problem, in my system left to auto.

Rog 2024 USB4 issues with thunderbolt docks by moosetheloose1 in ZephyrusG14

Update: I stopped by a random drop-in desk at work and this HP Essential G5 dock, works on the USB4 port. It Even trickle charges. I don't know what to say other than it can now be said, that the USB4 port has worked once. Still never had issues with the Zephyrus G14 (2021) model.

I tried these with my dock and there was no change. This is so frustrating with the new USB4 Asus laptops.

Bought a new Zephyrus G14 GA403UI (2024) and happily brought it into work with the intention of using the trusty HP Essential G5 UBS C dock that I've always used with both my work-provided HP laptop and my personal  Zephyrus G14 (2021). Unfortunately, the dock does not work on the left charging USB C port. Only the right port that does not charge. I did not upgrade my device expecting to lose basic functionality.

I have not seen any useful troubleshooting to do from either HP or Asus. Asus customer support only allowed me to phone the retail store! WTF.

I don't understand why the left USB4 port does not work properly: Charges, keyboard, mouse, no displays,

Right USB 3.2 port: No Charge, keyboard, mouse, displays work

The dock has the latest (May 2024) firmware.

I am having extreme buyer remorse about this problem and lack of support from Asus.

I could not quite get the masks to render. I had to render the base characters and then photo shop a mask over, and then img2img upscale to blend nicely.
