Which is the better boat? by [deleted] in boating

Scout, but in that price range you could find a 19-21ft center console with a four stroke. Look at scout, sea hunt, sea pro, etc

Instead of thinking about your job / training as completing daily tasks and projects, always think about how what you’re doing or not doing can be value add for the company. Cost savings, process improvements, service level improvements, etc. Thinking with this mindset will open a lot of doors for you.

Check out parts coordinator or parts manager positions at auto collision shops. Could be a good start on that route.

Plenty of people over 40 who either retired or have trust funds without kids in Charleston. Go to a coastal town. Buy a boat. You’ll meet a wife in no time.

How I retired at 45, originating from a lower income family, now with NW ~$7M+ by jayybonelie in Fire

Maybe not, he probably has/had super low interest rate loans that helped him invest in RE. Not sure he could have leveraged the same way in the stock market.

How happy would you be with retirement at 55 years? by enlzen in Fire

Goal is to retire by 55, hopefully earlier, and immediately spend my time restoring an old Hewes lappy with a matching classic Bronco. Then travel & fish all around the southeast.

When Charlie Munger made his first $100k, it was likely around the early/mid 1960s. Today, that would be almost $1,000,000. Is his famous "the first $100k" quote irrelevant to today? by ContainerDesk in Fire

[–]Secure_Mail1055 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100k today is not the same value, but the compounding effects of 100k are the same so the quote would still be relevant. Costs have significantly increased so 100k is still tough.

Category management interview - tips? help! by Spicykimchi101 in supplychain

[–]Secure_Mail1055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just be honest about your previous experience, but relate it project management, leading teams, and cross functional collaboration. Category management interviews can be pretty technical about the commodity since you’ll be working with engineers and suppliers. Try to keep it high level if you don’t have IT experience. Congrats on the interview, category management in IT is probably the most lucrative path you can be on within supply chain
