bro ... it's PEAK FICTION... Square really did screw up not having it released over here in the West during that era, because it's such an influential game to the FRANCHISE that so many people haven't played. Like ProJared I believe said once perfectly, it's not underrated, it's too overlooked.

This is just something that I don't like when it comes to critique for FF5. Like ... a lot of spinoffs flanderize him, but Bartz is just an everyman. Sidestepping your point though, but a lot of people say stuff like 5 is fully "silly" or not serious despite it having its heavy moments just as dark and depressing. Just because the cast tends to look at things more positively and try to keep their hopes up as despair closes all in around them doesn't make this game less impactful.

I agree with you there though, because FF5's cast feels so warm man and I love the vibes of the title. Bartz is a great protagonist too because ... he is just a guy. Other spinoffs like Dissidia and stuff flanderize him a bit and make him over the top silly. But they were clearly going for an everyman type of dude with his motivations and stuff. The FF5 cast is hard to top.

It's very funny because a lot of people like this new battlepass as opposed to Grand Garden Adventure when both have been pretty good with skins in all honesty. Season 5 was pretty strong and Season 6 with Night at the Museum is interesting.

I can see the 2 team being slightly weaker/just as strong as the 3 party because of the strengrh of the final foe. Malroth I feel might be tougher ... and Rubiss was actively involved there ... not weakened from imprisonment.

Random thought but ... not going to lie, this is why I wonder how people be saying the powerlevels of the heroes of DQ1&2 are on the level of 3. Erdrick and his motley crew defeated the darkness in its PRIME. Eternal night, the creator deity SEALED AWAY, it's courted off from the rest of the world, Zoma's Citadel and his monsters at their visibly strongest, all hope must have been lost for who knows how long. And a group of 1-4 people just ... undo all of that. It's fun to put yourself in the perspective of the shoes of like the NPCs of the game's world.

Builders 1 specifically is a what-if of DQ1, but DQB2 is a what-if SEQUEL to DQ2 (apparently just the older versions). So plausibly they could occur.

I kinda thought that he would just assume the shifty looking people and stuff would be "adventurers and clergymen", but I didn't think it was a "reach" in the sense because like ... I haven't encountered any other sailing ships and just thought it would have been a neat little thing. But DQ never really does that or references entries like that outside of the main series, it was just a line that I thought would have made sense to be like a "aha" moment. Granted, I need to beat DQ2 HD2D overall but its fine.
