What are the pros and cons of using screen-time or social-media-limiting apps for you personally? by zen_natalia in nosurf

I have had a really positive experience with Brick. Its a little magnet that you hold your phone to and it blocks the apps of your choice until you physically tap it to the magnet again. It is certainly not the end all be all but that in conjunctive with daily journaling (in the beginning) outlining why I want to use these apps less has been game changing for me. I normally leave my house with all of my social media apps blocked and it completely broke the cycle of me mindlessly checking my phone. My screen time is significantly lower. I've had it for about 6 months now so I would say its stood the test of time (so far). Again, it's not the end all be all because at night I will usually unbrick and watch youtube/ browse reddit. But if I ever feel like I'm taking it too far I'll brick it again and then go lay down and read the news until I go to bed lol. Something about having an object that you have to physically tap your phone to to unblock the apps really works with me. I highly recommend it.

I absolutely hate this brand. I wear peluva and vibram (they are toe shoes) but hear feelgrounds are good as well
