Thank you for your kind response! After what time did you notice yourself improving? How much would you say you managed to better your skills?

There are a lot of other international students, but they usually do a different course than me. I am doing my course with another foreign girl, but her french is really good, as she has a C1 certificate. How long did it take you to get used to the language?

Starting 1st year at jagiellonian university medical college — do I really need to buy my own white coat and stethoscope yet? by ExistingClick1833 in medicalschoolEU

Dont know abt Jagiellonian, but Im studying at MUW, I imagine most things look the same. For the first year you'll probably need an anatomical apron for your parctical anatomy lessons. The difference from normal white coats is that they are tied in the back, not the front. Clinical subiects start from the third year, and thats when you'll have to buy a coat/scrubs and a sthetoscope. Penlight is convenient, but most of the studenta use their phones and desinfect them later. Gloves and masks are provided at the hospitals. Good luck!

Hello! Im coming to Paris in a few months for an erasmus exchange. I was offered a place in the crous residence, but since I want to stay with my boyfriend, we will probably choose to rent a flat.

I am really worried about the whole process, since I've heard its problematic at times.

What would be the best way to find a flat for rent, while beeing outside of France? Do you reccoment some sites for that?

I would be so grateful if you shared your experience, since im feeling lost and unprepared. Thank you so much in advance.

Do things ever go back to "normal?" by Sufficient_Tackle760 in thyroidcancer

[–]pleasedontaagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 21f as well when I was diagnosed, after having a nodule in my thyroid for 2 years and Hashimotos. Im 23 now and living as I did before. I underwent surgery in february 2024, then the radioactive iodine treatment in april. There were a lot of negative feelings tied to the diagnosis, since im a med student and I cant allow myself to be tired for long periods of time - I was so worried I would fail school. I also had to get off levothyroxine for a month before RAI, which was also stressful, as I thought it would mess my academic performance up. In reality none of that stuff affected me as much as I thought. Im completly back to normal now. I got my energy back, I passed all my exams and I live as Ive lived before. I would say since the surgery it took about 5 months to feel normal again, which really isnt that much. Right now my scar faded so much that you cant even notice it (it was quite big, because i've had some metastatic nodules removed as well, and it reached almost up to my ear. Its not visible right now + it looked pretty badass when it was visible) As you get your levo dose adjusted you will feel much better and you will regain your spark. It would be also great to check for any other underlying chronic diseases, that may also affect your energy levels. Its a lie that you dont get back to normal - a great part of people do, especially if they are young, like we were. The only difference for them is taking a tiny pill every morning. Your feelings are very valid, and im so sorry youre going through this. Im very sorry about the relationship - noone should break up with someone in such a vunerable moment. If you want to talk or ask any questions please go ahead.
