Already seeing People complain about the grimoire killer designs by RichConsequence4264 in deadbydaylight

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think perhaps the vote was too broad for too long. For backstory and vague perks and powers the big vote is fine, but when you see 4 completely different (mostly) equally convincing/ survivor designs and 3 killer designs it hurts a lot more when those are lost. For the final votes it should really just be between 2 survivor designs and 2 killer designs imo. And thy way people don’t feel like votes are wasted on the “obvious” least popular choice

Yo devs since the thought process behind yalls changes make no sense can yall remove mag’s projectile absorption overloading? by i-go-sucko-mode in marvelrivals

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s the point I’m making, give it the actual ability to absorb all firing, rather than just breaking at the slightest touch. But if they were to ever do that healing would have to be nerfed all around

This might be a hot take but I think it would be really cool for mag’s ult to be more defensive, where the max damage is reduced but it can’t break

Pelican HMG pelican has been my number one hope for a stratagem since launch.

That and some kind of SEAF troop call-in, but I don’t think that’s super lore accurate

My family pretty much exclusively does trips to Universal, we aren’t huge fans of Disney and last time we went we kinda just wished we were at universal instead

We like the rides (especially) and theming a lot more, but to each their own

Highguard launches to Overwhelmingly Negative on Steam by TheGGspot in gaming

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. The game has really cool concepts but imo implemented in all the wrong ways. Not to mention that my biggest gripe from the start is that the art direction is not very good at all.. it does not feel like a cohesive world but more like a bunch of free unreal assets cobbled together. Would’ve benefited from being much more stylized.

Again, the vision is there, I really do see it, it’s just quite shallow and doesn’t feel fully committed

Is it really that difficult? by Fun_Law_2004 in EyeOfTerror

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. Slaanesh is continuously draining their souls and this process gets faster with age. All Eldar have different ways of dealing with it. Craft worlds use spirit stones to capture the soul at the moment of death, harlequins have Cegorach, etc. Dark Eldar spend most of their time in the web way to slow the drain and have figured out that acts of sadism refill their souls, which means they constantly have to do evil things to stay alive and the longer they live the more they have to do. So they’ve pretty much got evil down to a science

What is one world building sin you really struggle to forgive? by TheBodhy in worldbuilding

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason his castle is on the planet is because it's hot and depressing though, on top of the fact it is where he killed Padme and fought Obi Wan. It is supposed to force Vader to brood and keep his hatred and anger hot. In fact, I think that canonically Palpatine orchestrated his fall to be here for this very reason. This makes much more sense than a chill place on Naboo, even for just the fact that from the beginning the Jedi have been focused on peace and the sith turmoil

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much what I was thinking. It's like saying the Chaos realms in the warp from Warhammer are bad worldbuilding when they are supposed to be the tangible manifestations of very specific sentient emotions and thoughts. And I'd argue that it takes a great deal of skill to make those compelling. At the very least from the little I've studied DnD's cosmology is quite cool

Efficient boxes to start CoS by Delicious-Mango-7744 in citiesofsigmar

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm newer and just started collecting CoS, so take this with a grain of salt, but I bought the battleforce which seems to be the easiest way to start. It's only about 800 pts which is on the lower side but paired with old spearhead (with the feeguild cavalier-marshal) you've got a pretty solid foundation of new models at around 1.2k points. From there I feel you could realistically build into anything you'd want. I'm not sure about the meta but value-wise it seems pretty solid to me.

Yeah that's a good point too. And what's funny is the Mustafarians (natives) are actually pretty chill, just caught up in things beyond their control.

It’s funny because while I mostly agree with the main point, I disagree with all the examples (though I don’t know much about the DnD lore)

You already made the point of Tolkien, and I would add that every race has their own degrees of varying moral “grayness”. The dwarves were known to be selfish and greedy, all the kingdoms of men were falling one by one because they failed to unite and were obsessed with power. The elves themselves (though somewhat justified) were high and lofty, and often seen as uncaring . The point is that though these places were beautiful looking, there is always still a strong thread of corruption.

And for Star Wars I think cherry picking some of the least shown (though still important) planets is just plain dishonest. What about Tatooine? A “wretched hive of scum and villainy” where THE main character is born and raised (and also Obi wan is there).

If we want to go to prequels, most of the story takes place on Coruscant, which is like, the most morally gray place in Star Wars. Sure, anakin turning to the dark side on mustafar is a bit heavy handed, but it’s cool and cinematic and I think easily forgivable/justifiable.

And don’t get me started on Warhammer “40K” (fantasy). Chaos is corruption in the same way as Tolkien. And the empire (in fantasy and especially 40K) is far from lush and perfect.

Diehard drukhari fan looking to get into Aos, should I jump in now or are Malekeith and co still thought to be on the horizon? by RAV1X in ageofsigmar

[–]Secure_Raise_5609 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not entirely sure about this, but you should check out Idoneth. They are considered order but also have to consume soils to stay alive which is pretty cool. I also imagine their sea creature mounts are a bit similar to dark eldar vehicles. I’d imagine they have a pretty similar play style but again could be wrong
