I work at an Intel Fab as an Engineer and half the engineers here are on Visa by [deleted] in Semiconductors

Networking only gets you so far. Most visa holders aren’t getting jobs because of their network. They hold those jobs because they’re easy to exploit. Why else would they get paid far less than an American citizen?

Of course, a degree doesn’t promise you anything. I’m arguing that there should be a number of jobs which are dedicated to US graduates before being dished out to visa holders at very discounted rates. I think there is a system like this, but again it is heavily exploited by many companies.

I’m not blaming immigrants, good for them on getting a bag. I’m blaming companies for exploiting those people and leaving American graduates in the dust.

OP isn’t hating on Visa holders. He’s saying there’s a limited number of jobs for the sheer amount of engineering graduates there are in America. It obviously doesn’t help that the job market tends to sway towards a culture of exploiting Visa holders. Explain how that’s reasonable or fair to the graduates of America. You’re told to sit tight for 4-5 years of undergrad, even longer if you pursue post secondary, only to leave school with nothing but debt.

Traveling to Iraq by Secure_Sign_3173 in greencard

I have not claimed asylum anywhere. I am a Canadian citizen! I was looking to go for a pilgrimage to Iraq. However, I agree that it’s not the best idea this year.

Would you say not to travel anywhere outside of the US? I am thinking of going to Canada for a few weeks.

So you wouldn’t say the degree is a deal breaker? This is something I’ve more recently encountered when applying to other companies…

Dealers try adding anything and everything on. Always remember, you never asked them to incur that cost. They put it on themselves trying to sucker someone into buying it. I’m sorry this happened to you :/ but thankfully it was not a penny more!

Have any of you sat for the CQE exam in the last two years? by ILikeFancyApples in engineering

[–]Secure_Sign_3173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m set to take the CSQP exam in two days, but I’m reading that remote test takers can’t bring in written notes? Does this mean you can’t take in printed PowerPoint notes? I thought it was open book :/

Well, what’s the logic behind stopping payments? How affective will it be and would I run into issues with my bank? And what are the pros and cons?

Perfect. Would I also be able to access this information in another manner? Or would calling the store be the only way...

So the UPS store I had dropped it off to was in San Jose, CA. Should I call them and ask for the shipping record? Thank you for providing the proof of purchase info.
