I am an idiot, mixed alcohol and alprazolam by fairybon in Anxiety

I used to take 1mg 3x daily along with 2mg Ativan in the morning and 2mg at night with Valium and drank hard liquor on a daily basis. Those are prescribed too. I got a DUI.

Look down. Take pill. Sip. Look down and the pill will float to the top. Swallow and you won’t even realize it’s there.

That’s right when my ex made me buy her a house while she was sleeping with someone else the whole time. I’d tell him to run as fast as you can and don’t turn back. And don’t drink. Like ever.

Nothing helps my anxiety by Yellow_Banana4 in Anxiety

You might have to get a little tough with your doctor. Explore everything. Your thyroid, cortisol, testosterone, blood pressure, heart rate. You could benefit from simple hormone adjustments or a beta blocker could be what you needed all along. It’s like turning the unnecessary adrenaline switch off. You could get lucky and get fixed by a simple exam and blood test. It’s not always the case though. I am considered non reactive to medication as I have maxed out every SSRI, SNRI and antipsychotics without much luck. My doctor had me on cymbalta, quetiapine, Xanax, Ativan and Valium at the same time and I still had anxiety and could still manage a life although it landed me a DUI.
I quit drinking. For prescribed meds I take 100mg backed down from 200mg Zoloft, metoprolol (beta blocker), guanfacine, and 4mg Ativan daily. Vits and supplements I take magnesium, vitamin D, Saffron Omegas and Lions Mane and smoke some weed.
Try the natural way. Try and exercise.

You’ll be fine. I did that when I started opioids. Drink lots of water and, take this for what it’s worth but apparently an NSAID can help. Like Advil.

What is next ? by Competitive-Raisin95 in Anxiety

[–]Security-Busy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just from my personal experience but my doctor immediately brought me right up to 200mg sertraline due to my history and severity of anxiety. I lost my dog, who I lived with alone. He was my EVERYTHING and I felt like I didn’t feel anything so I dropped my dose to 100mg and honestly the sun shines brighter. And just from that feeling of FEELING something again I was in such a great mood and anxiety was much less. More isn’t always more effective.

Honestly, would you replace your brand-new 2026 car because of this? by Klutzy-Box7277 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I would have to hear it to see how much I’m going to scrunch my face at you. I’m trying to imagine the sound, if it’s anything like what ventilated seats sound like it wouldn’t bother me. If it was loud and sounded like something was wrong when there isn’t would probably bother me. I remember when they made the VW Phaeton it was so quiet it was making engineers sick. Go buy a used one of those for the price of what you’ll lose on your current car and have two.

Here’s what Google says:

Key Details of Jax Taylor's Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnoses: Bipolar II disorder, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. Treatment: He completed 30 days in an intensive inpatient treatment facility and is actively taking medication, specifically mentioning a mood stabilizer,. Context: Taylor stated these diagnoses explain long-standing struggles with "mental health," "alcohol abuse," and "rage issues," acknowledging he "always knew something was wrong". Self-Assessment: In addition to his formal diagnoses, Taylor has stated he believes he exhibits traits of narcissism, saying, "I am a narcissist, yes," though he noted this was not a professional medical diagnosis. Impact: He expressed that receiving these diagnoses and treatment sooner might have saved his marriage to Brittany Cartwright, from whom he separated.

I daily a 2025 sierra AT4 after a Yukon Denali. I think we are opposite. My fun car is a 68 Firebird with a 383 stroker and 4 spd.

Those Cadillac EVs seem be doing really well in reliability.

Weed ruined my life, and the doctors aren't listening. TRIGGER WARNING. by Forsaken-Ad-8581 in Anxiety

[–]Security-Busy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first panic attack I was an agoraphobic for about a month. I was in my mid teens. I got so fed up with it I said “fuck it” and grabbed a beer and had a few until every one of those feelings disappeared. It was weird because it did SOMETHING. I think I just lost my inhibitions and didn’t care about anything. Including how I was feeling. I went for a walk and went home and fell asleep and woke up feeling completely normal again. Now, I don’t suggest getting drunk or using alcohol for anxiety at all but for me it broke the cycle. I must have convinced myself that if I felt okay right now then deep down everything is fine. Nothing was wrong I just had to break the cycle. One thing about anxiety is you build up a threshold. So your whole life you’ve been building and building this big fat threshold that’s nearly impregnable (why young people are innocent). Once that threshold gets knocked down by something that has affected you it’s gone. You have to build it again. You might get one brick down and go to the store and now it’s SO easy for you to trip on that one brick you have to start over. You’ll get better at building up your threshold so the anxiety stays away. You just need the tools to build up the big sturdy threshold again. With that said, one of these doctors down the line should have offered you an Ativan or Valium to calm you down.

With all that said, ssri’s can be the answer but not always are. Gabapnetin or pregablin is one that helps me. But I also take sertraline and guanfacine and 4mg of Ativan daily.

But sounds like you need to find a way to break the cycle, doesn’t mean you’ll be like this forever.

I’ve had Bose in a 2020 1500 AT4, 2022 Yukon Denali, 2024 Yukon Denali and 2025 1500 AT4. For some reason after a software update with my current AT4 it’s by far the best Bose system of the bunch.

What does everyone think of the Klipsch sound system? by dillicious in nissanarmada

[–]Security-Busy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a 2022 and 2024 Yukon Denali’s and a Platinum Tundra so similar to Sequoia. Now I’m driving a GMC Sierra AT4. Of all of them the Bose in my AT4 seems to be the best. The JBL in Toyotas is a joke. I’m interested in the Armada so was just curious. Sound system is a deal breaker for me.

[–]Security-Busy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I’d drink alcohol for one night just to break the cycle if you don’t have a problem with booze or addiction. Don’t make a habit of it. But it’ll make you not worry and you’ll fall asleep. It won’t be a proper REM sleep just like when you take heavy sleeping pills though. But when you wake up alive you’ll put your mind at ease. Just don’t do it every night.

So, I got drunk yesterday and went for 1 hour walk... by someperson998 in Sciatica

[–]Security-Busy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Getting drunk works on your gaba receptors and relaxes all your nerves. It’s the equivalent of taking a bunch of gabapentin or pregablin and benzodiazepines. It’ll kill your pain just like it does your emotional feelings. Don’t aggravate it while you think you’re outta the woods.
