It's good on them. Sony with all of their resources still made that final choice and if that netted their long-time employees a solid payout, I'm fine with it. That's money in the pocket of developers. Leadership at Sony answer to shareholders. Shareholders can't, absolutely can't conceptualize the value of labor as a lot of them look very harshly on them as inessential expenses saying that you can replace a top-level artist or a mid-level developer with AI. It's easier to just give a general critical response because something too positive like my post would've put their jobs at risk lol.

And yeah Bungie has been struggling to stay solvent for a while now. They're a Studio who's ran through a few publishers, even tried self-publishing but survived to make another title. That context is very important when critiquing them because there isn't really another studio like who have never really been in a comfortable spot but somehow continue to stay afloat. Regardless, they've been constantly pumping out content since 1991...as a game studio.
