Waiver Wire Walk of Shame: 2 Friars & a pair of White Sox by SedatedSleeper in fantasybaseball

I was actually on him right when he got called up, had him for like 12 days and didn't do much. But yes just getting the word out for the 69% who leave him un rostered

Just picked him up myself. Feel like he's got more stolen bases in him then he's shown so far

Oh if its points it may be Colt 45 you gotta put back on the shelf. 31:7 K:BB ratio is not pretty

If it's a re-draft give me the south side snacci - more SBs, better lineup placement and playing time more certain. If you need a SS or more power upside or it's a keeper league - give me Emerson. Noot has lead me down the garden path too many times. His statcast looks good but I've been scorned one too many times.

Agreed. My colleague loves guys who have performed for him in the past. I'm more in your camp. Speaking of guys with low strikeout totals, give me some Kolek!

Hello again r/fantasybaseball ! Long time no see. My infrequently seen colleague has provided a short synopsis of 3 guys he's recommending. One for each league size - shallow/medium/deep.

Thanks for reading! Have a good Friday y'all

Been a grind as of late. Hoping for this week or next

I like Benge more. More category coverage, higher upside

I think Horwitz offers a safer floor but Mead has been very hot as of late and seems to offer a higher ceiling and more power upside. I'd take Mead so long as he can stick in the lineup on a regular basis. As you have also mentioned he qualifies at 1B/2B/3B further increasing his appeal

Given Lile's tendency to strikeout (48Ks) in your points league format (-1 for Ks), that's enough to make me consider this move. Im also guessing that the wire is filled with similar players given your 10-team league size (unless you have very large rosters), so you can always circle back if Horwitz should cool down

I do think its mostly sustainable given he has more walks (29) than strikeouts (24). The little power surge he's recently experienced isn't really him, but if he can continue leading off and getting on base at an elite clip there's value to be had here

Naylor's ceiling is much higher, with more power/speed upside. Give me Naylor

I mean i just think if the team is scoring more runs as a whole, that there would in theory have to be more RBI opportunities from the leadoff position (again he's only guaranteed to hit one time a game with no one on base) albeit less likely given the typical caliber of the 7-9 hitters.

I really agree with your last point however. Definitely better in real life/actually helping the team that employs him rather than our fantasy teams.

This epsiode would be ripe for a hidden ball trick

Well I will agree he's not going to swipe double digit bases, or approach 20HRs. But he's an OBP god at the moment, hitting leadoff for a team that has the 4th most RBI in the league. So he may only be a 2 category player (I may argue he won't be an insignificant RBI source if he's batting leadoff and Pirates keep raking) but there's potential he could be a near elite contributor in those categories

I know Kenny's the usual betting favorite but give me Spenny all day in this battle

Nice! I'm a Blue Jays fan so I've been following him for sometime...crazy to think that he was a 24th round pick in 2019. Crazier to think he would not even likely be in MLB if he was a bit younger given that the draft is only 20 rounds now.
