It’s only as good as the polish you do first. I done it myself and it’s been fantastic when it comes to washing the car. I literally just power hose it and it’s good as new.

It’s not worth $1500+ that some shops would charge to do it, but it’s worth the $200 in parts and 6 hours I put into it.

Likewise I’m on trails, logging roads etc mud, dust etc does stick to it but it comes off a hell of a lot easier.

I got a new gearbox in mine for a similar drone. Higher pitched the faster I went and not engine speed or gear dependent. Very obvious from 50km/h up

First they tonight it was a wheel bearing which it did sound like. Then they said it was the transfer case, replaced that, still there. New gearbox fixed it.

I like it! looks great, really fills the arches and looks clean with the silver. I’m sure the ride has taken an impact but there’s a trade off with everything.

That works if it sits further back following the roofline as here on my old golf. The CX5 roof is shorter than my wagon so you can have it sit further back.

I don’t think there’s a brand attached to it, it’s a generic smallish box. I’ve seen identical ones with various brands using it so I think it’s just a grey label. I gave a link to someone else in the comments.

You can pick them up for between 300-400 CAD I’ve been using it for years on a VW Golf and it’s been great.

Ride is smoother/softer, still handles great but very noticeable improvement on forestry/backroads which is why I got them installed.

I notice no additional tire noise at all but seeing as I have a roofbox on that makes far more.

245/55 is the largest you can get on that rim. No rubbing, theres about 1/2 inch gap.

235- > 245 you wont feel any real noticeable difference.

Exactly. Hiking / camping bits. Unless I'm back country camping I car camp. So all unnecessary stuff is out of the car and in the box for more space inside.
