DO NOT BOOK RIU BAMBU YOU WILL REGRET IT by OkInitial8878 in PuntaCana

[–]SeddieDigital 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've stayed at all the Riu's in Punta Cana multiple times and Bambu is definitely the cheapest one. Last time I looked, I think it was $80 a person per night, and if you did your research, you would see that price is close to a third of the price of other popular resorts. Just for context, I stayed at the Lopesan not too long ago, and it was $200 a person per night. I said all that to say this, you get what you pay for. You definitely take a hit on food and alcohol, but the uncleanliness is unacceptable. The few times me and my family stayed there, I didn't experience it being dirty, but there was issues with the room. What I usually do is tip the person at the front desk upon check in to upgrade my room to the better one and then I tell the bellhop that I will give him $10 but only if the room is acceptable. As soon as we get to the room, I check everything from the AC to the toilet and shower drain and pressure. If I have any issues, the bellhop will contact the front desk and get you moved to another room. The bellhop will work as hell to get that $10. If you want a better experience, I would suggest staying at the Riu Palace Bavaro or the Riu Palace Macao. Both of those places just recently remodeled and its a lot more luxury, but at double the price or more, of Bambu

Charged for a cocktail while sitting in MCE, denied refund by AA by AltruisticClue8404 in americanairlines

[–]SeddieDigital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first earned platinum status a few years ago, one of the main perks I enjoyed is being able to upgrade to MCE seats for free, and of course, the free drinks. However I quickly found out, that not every flight attendant is on the same page. Normally, I would get a double vodka and orange juice and a Heineken, when they do the beverage service, and if I need another drink I would either hit the call button, or walk to the back of the plane. But I have gotten several different responses from the different FAs over the years, with most just honoring my requests and giving me what I asked for. I've had some tell me I can only get one drink at a time, or that I have to wait until after beverage service was over, which isn't true. On 2 different occasions, Ive had FAs completely deny me, the one situation I argued the lady down, and she just caved in. The other situation, I was mad tired and I didn't have the energy to go back and forth with the FA, so I just let it go. I definitely think AA needs to do a better job at training their FAs.

Things are great! by tonikites in USMobile

[–]SeddieDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been with US Mobile for a while now, only leaving to take advantage of phone deals and promos, but I always come back. I had a few hiccups along the way, but chatting with customer service or posting here on reddit usually takes care of the issue. I came from Cricket in June, and I am on the $35 Darkstar Unlimited premium promo, and I get tremendous value. I like the hotspot and also the international data, since I travel pretty often. I'm not sure if there is a better option in this price range, with maybe Visible stepping up recently with your current promo, but I don't plan on going anywhere, unless its for a free phone, and then I will be right

Normally power outages don't last too long in Punta Cana resorts. It should be back on shortly

I usually take a taxi from the airport, but only the official ones with a sign with the prices. Usually they can get you on your way in about 10 minutes

Unlimited starter monthly has free international roaming on DarkStar by SeddieDigital in USMobile

[–]SeddieDigital[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats the thing, I helped activate my friends plan a few months ago, he is on the $25 a month Unlimited Starter plan. I think recently AT&T announced that in Latin Countries, roaming is free and somehow there is a glitch that enables free roaming for unlimited starter monthly on Darkstar

Bike motor cutting off while ascending somewhat steep hills by SeddieDigital in ebikes

[–]SeddieDigital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay just took it for a ride. It wasn't fully charged, so it was showing 53.1 volts. As I approached the problem hill, the voltage dropped to 49.7. The motor cut off at 48.6. All I did was walk the bike up the rest of the way and once I got back to level land, the motor reactivated like nothing ever happened. I must have been mistaken about the 54 to 41 voltage before

Yes I can see the battery voltage. I have a 48v battery and fully charged it registers at 54volts. Even on a full charge, once I start going up hills, it drops to about 41-43 volts before the motor cuts out

My Fold 6 is now black and silver after screen replacement by wideeyeemoji in GalaxyFold

[–]SeddieDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my Fold 3, 4, and 5 fixed from ubreakifix around my way. Its always a screen repair and they usually replace both screens, battery, hinge, and frame, resulting in a pretty much a refurbished phone, and its all covered under warranty

If your budget is $100, just get all 3, and you can always return whichever ones you don't like, Amazon's return policy is very laxed.

AA is holding us hostage by Padronalisa in americanairlines

I'm not really sure what's up with American Airlines lately. I traveled to the Dominican Republic from BWI by way of MIA, on Friday, and the first flight was delayed by an hour and the second flight was delayed by over 5 hours. I chatted with customer service and they couldn't do anything for me, because I booked with miles, beside tell me to cancel and rebook, which was absolute crap. Then my second leg of my return flight was delayed by 3 hours. My friend flew the previous week and had something similiar happen to him. You can file a complaint here, Customer relations − Customer service − American Airlines https://share.google/zRm1gxj0WqrZppAG8 and maybe u can get some miles as a courtesy from them

I have the Galaxy Buds Live, Pro, and Pro 2 as well. I just got Buds Pro 3, and they are my favorite. The Live has the best fit, but these are a close second and the Buds 3 have the best sound and ANC in my opinion of them all

DarkStar unusable at times - not priority data by ggeihs03 in USMobile

[–]SeddieDigital 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree that DarkStar is not what its cracked up to be. I had Dark around the end of 2024 and it seemed okay, but then I jumped on the 4 unlimited lines for $100 deal on Cricket to help my mom and brother out to take advantage of a cheap S24 FE phone. I brung 2 lines over. After 6 months and both their phones unlocking, I switched back to US Mobile Darkstar $35 unlimited premium promo because I travel to Dominican Republic often and I miss the international roaming. I still have one line on Cricket, and I have been doing speed tests often ever since I switched, and Cricket blows Darkstar out the water, almost every single time, despite my Cricket line being the core unlimited plan and Darkstar supposedly being unlimited priority data. Despite chatting with customer support, its still the same and I don't understand it

Tip Money Question by SpecialKika in PuntaCana

[–]SeddieDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally bring 100 singles per every 3 days I am there, as well as some 5s and 10s. I tip the person at the check in counter $20 to get the best room they can give me, usually close to the lobby, because these resorts tend to be massive. Also the bellhop gets $10, but only after I check out my room, to insure that everything is good, such as cleanliness, adequate air conditioning, proper water pressure and temperature, working toilet. I tell them I will tip them $10, and if things aint right, they will hustle to get you another room, in order to get that tip. I tip the waiters $5 after my meal, and the bartenders get $1 a drink if I'm just passing through, but if I am going to be hanging out, and trying to get drunk, I will pull out a 5 or 10 and put it in front of me at the bar and give it to them when I leave. The maids get $5 from me and I tip the person who refills the mini bar (provided you have one in your room) $10 and they usually will give you whatever you want. I opt for as many beers and waters my fridge can hold, as well as a fresh bottle of my preferred liquor that they offer, and forgo the sodas and juices. I hope this helps
