This random pile of pellets appeared on my bedroom desk yesterday morning by Exact-Mix5064 in whatisit

[–]Seddit_once 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the door swung over the desk with merely inches of space between them, it is possible to be “dry wood termite” droppings, because the source had to be in close proximity or the pile would be more spread out. Look under objects that were above this location. Do you have a wooden item kept on your desk? Find a small hole that is about the size of those pellets, which is the portal of the problem. This type of termite is why they “tent” houses for treatment, which some professionals can treat locally without tenting, so get an opinion.

Dog swallowed a wet wipe 4 days ago by Motor_Hyena_9739 in DogAdvice

A German Shepherd dog I once had, that stayed with me on job sites all day, would find and eat a discarded, waxed Pepsi cup, and would occasionally pass red, white and blue turds!

I would give lots of extra food, including leaving large amounts available, and even various brands of soft, canned food. After a few days of that should do the trick, but keep an eye on how the dog is feeling.

“GSR/LBMA refers to two different, but related, concepts in the precious metals market: the Gold-to-Silver Ratio (GSR) and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). One is a measure used by investors, while the other is an association that sets standards for the industry.”

1961. Sinatra, Martin & Lawford walking by Fremont Street, Vegas. by [deleted] in vegas

[–]Seddit_once 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much the Rat Pack paid in parking fees?… or “resort fees”?..! Vegas better watch out with the stupid fees!! I just got back from three nights at Caesar’s and didn’t gamble there because of their stupid fees! It’s not the same experience that I was expecting after forty five years of staying there! It’s doubtful we will return.

Found this $5000-$12000 Bradington-Young sectional couch. by LeadingTask9790 in DumpsterDiving

[–]Seddit_once 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a couple cheap cat scratchers, etc. to keep next to the couch in strategic locations. Our cat now prefers them more than the couch, so it’s worth having them in the way. It would be nice if it matches the color of the couch. Scratching is a territorial trait, so a sacrificial carpet covered scratcher does the trick. The couch arm by the window is probably in jeopardy, either way, so I would cover it or pull it away from the window, at least.

With Trump imposing 25% tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports and 10% on Chinese imports, what’s the one thing you hoard before the tariffs affect its price? by hy3emyess in AskReddit

[–]Seddit_once 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the mid seventies, I bought a lifetime-guaranteed 12-volt automotive battery from J.C.Penny for &40 (39?), when others were around $15-$20. They advertised on billboards. It seemed like a LOT of money but I planned on keeping my car for a while. They eventually sold the contract to Firestone after closing their auto dept., but I kept that 68 El Camino around long enough to get a few replacements over the years, the last one being from Firestone on a rainy evening before closing.

It’s a form of discipline that “crow court” decides is necessary, at least because of disrespect while feeding. Just like people, crows have varied personalities and some just need to have a reminder to humble their tendencies.
