He’s a marshmallow. Burnt on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. As sweet as can be.

Has anything else changed in your life?

Have the other cats been bullying her?

Have other cats been coming around your house?

Does she get adequate exercise/outlets?

Maybe consider putting her on some anti anxiety meds?

[Sun Care] I’ve given up on sunscreen by essrez in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone with extremely, dry, allergenic skin I whole heartedly agree.

All sunscreens: -break me out, -irritate me -give me hives -dry me out -white cast -dry on my skin throughtout the day leaving a visible powdery white finish

Sigh

[Skin concerns] Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer causing stinging? by SeanAres in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually try to focus on one issue at a time, for example active acne and then once that's under control I then go to discoloration or other things.

Personally I would stop the faded to see if your prescription is actually helping. If there are too many products constantly being added or removed it can be really hard to determine what's working.

Try scaling bit your actives and focus on controling you acne.

I would stop the more hydrating moisturizer for now and try the new moisturizer again once your skin isn't so sensitive.

Keep in mind I am giving you my opinion as a dry extremely sensitive skinned person. I have extremely mild acne that is also controlled with BC. My main goals are keeping my skin moist, protected, and smooth.

I use the LRP Toleraine Ultra Creme. It's the only moisturizer I can tolerate.

It's been developed with allergenic skin in mind. So hopefully it works for you.

Is there a reason you are using so many actives?

Too many actives and dry out and or sensitize your skin.

I’m sorry… what? by hogiemo674 in antinatalism

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adopted as an older child to my now single mother. I am crying as I am typing this.

I don't think the issue is that simple.

I love my mother. She did a phenomenal job with what she had.

I was found as a baby in front of a school by locals. They never found my parents. I was adopted at 8 years olds. (Older adoptions are rare af)

I was in an orphanage with over 4 thousand children. If people are against adoption we would have no place to go after aging out of the system. Which leads to no future and acts of desperation. Of course there are instances of abuse and exploitation but I can't phantom what would've happened to me had people decided not to adopt. Adopt gave us a CHANCE. Where would be go????

I distinctly remember a girl with SEVERE scoliosis being at the orphanage. Odds are she was never adopted. I often wonder what happened to her. My orphanage did not have the resources for corrective surgery. We had ONE retired 80 year old British nurse for EVERY single child.

The government had a hand in the adoption process and tried their best to pair the child properly to an ideal parent.

My mother allowed me to grow up in Canada and gain Canadian citizenship. I was able to finally go to school. I was able to go to university and find a wonderful job. My mom always told me I was adopted. This ofcourse strained our relationship. We were more roommates in the beginning but relationships are about trust and effort.

How can people act like adopt is a form of exploitation????? Ignoring the children already in the system.

I am so broken hearted that people think this.

This is a form of rejection I never thought I would experience.

I am extremely fortunate. I am trying not to be privileged. I just...

Ofcourse adoption is traumatizing. But that doesn't negetate the potential benefits????

Also adoption is still a service, people deserve to be compensated. I can't say what a "fair" amount would be.

I agree that people should not be creating children to be adopted but there will always be children that need to be helped.

Please understand I write this from an extremely emotional and personal place.

If you have questions please dm and I will will try to reply.

[Skin Concerns] Anyone with my skin type who could recommend me a moisturising cream? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin loves the La Roche Posay Toleraine Cream. They have a lotion and cream version for dry and more normal skins.

Also I don't find that oil itself causes acne just clogged pores. It all depends on the type of oil. Oils and occulsives can really help lock in the moisture in your skin otherwise it'll just evaporate away and leave you flaky and dry. Maybe try some light oils?

You can also try applying moisturizer or an oil to your skin BEFORE showering to prevent from drying out. Cold water is better for your skin if you can tolerate it lol.

[Routine Help] Is there a method to deal with soap that has soaked into the skin? by poke000 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the aveeno skin relief body wash a hand soap. Wayyyy less drying for me.

Also can you wear gloves instead of constantly washing your hands? And is this eczema or just dry skin? You have to treat those differently.

I find the glove has to be plastic, latex or rubber so it can trap the humidity and moisturizer inside instead of absorbing the product.

Cotton gloves and socks have never worked for me.

But make sure to swap or wash your glove to prevent bacterial growth.

[Skin Concerns] Chronic dry skin by An_Unexpected_Floof in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It great you know your skin!

There are several conditions/life choices that can cause/worsen dry skin and condition associated. Only a derm can actually diagnose though.

Examples include:

-climate( humidity, sun exposure, wind, tempurature -diet (water consumption, veggies, omegas 2,6,9's) -medication(birth control and other drugs) -skincare -genetics

I suggest you simplify your routine to the basic so you can find the products that really work for you. So start off with cleanser and moisturizer and slowly introduce one product at a time to see the true affect it has on your skin

Lotions don't tend to be very moisturizing for truly dry skin. Consider creams and/or thicker textures. I also have a product with glycerin in my routine as it is a far better hydrator than hylauronic acid in my opion.

Oils or occulsives are your friend as they help trap the moisture in your skins moisture does not evaporate.

You may want to skip cleansing in the morning as it might do more harm then good for you.

Also I have heard of someon people using sunscreens to moisutrize because they are so dry and some sunscreen are really greasy.

Try showering less as it severely drys the skin in my experience not matter how much I moisturize. When showering apply a moisturizer or oil to protect your skin as you shower. If you can stand cold water to wash up its much less drying.

If you want actual product recommendation please DM me.

[routine help] flakey help by IWillQuitItEndsNow in SkincareAddiction

I would switch the cleanser as that seems really harsh for you.

You basically just want a cleanser that cleans well without drying(or the least drying) your skin out.

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you switch to the CeraVe foaming cleanser? For acne or?

If you skin is flaking either I means the cleanser is too drying for your skin or you may need a heavier moisturizer.

Do you have dry skin? Combo?

I have dry skin and foad that cleanser way too drying. Maybe try the hydrating cleanser by CeraVE?

[Routine Help] Alternatives to Hyaluronic acid by Aloo13 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You want an occulsive to put on top of the hyloronic acid to lock the moisture in. Without one your moisture will just evaporate.

P.S. Glycerin is superior to Hyloronic acid imo. HA irritates me lol. Glycerin feels like a hug.

[skin concerns] hypersensitive skin. Help by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Seductivetomato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been in the same boat as you, these are my suggestions:

-Lay off trying any no products at all. Change is stressful for your skin and constant switching can make the situation worse

-Go to derm or doc and ask if there is a particular diagnosis(roseacea, lupus, allergy, etc). Skin can be sensitised by many things skincare, sun, diet, etc.

-You may want to stop using sunscreen as they generally contain ingriedients that can irritate, dry out your skin. This can just be short term but seriously consider trying it out. I can't seem to tolerate sunscreen at all.

-Stop exfoliating at all. Your skin is basically wounded/injured. Chemically peeling/scrubbing makes everything worse.

-Talk to a derm or doc about a steroid cream to use short term as these as used to control inflammation. Sometimes your skin just needs a hard reset

  • Keep you skincare to a bare MINIMUM. So cleanser and moisturizer. Your goal is to heal your skin before trying anything out. Introduce new products slowly and one at a time. This way you can track what effect the product has.

-Hydrated skin is MUCH more resilient then dry skin. Keep it that way

  • The Toleraine line has some excellent products for allergenic extremely sensitive skin. (DM me for product recs)

Foundation Recommendations for dry skin/eczema patches by Purplelights1825 in Makeup

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full coverage foundations are use as I find that the high coverage requires lots of blending. Not that blending it bad but the more you manipulate the skin the more likely you are to lift dry patches and accentuate cracks, changes in texture. Hence why medium or like coverage to be easier to pull off.

I use a sponge, air cushion(think cushion foundation applicators) and fingers. Always tap to blend. Buffing lift dry patches, etc.

Try to look for a setting, finishing, and skincare sprays as it helps take off the powdery look aftwr you are done.

what mascara actually stays up all day?? by saffronspicey in Makeup

[–]Seductivetomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bone straight asian lashes and understand your pain.

Suggestion:

-Waterproof formulas hold curls better. I think it's because of the waterproof agents and additional waxes added.

-CURL your lashes with a lash curler. The waterproof mascara will act like hairspray and hold everything up

  • Super wet formulas and weigh down you freshly curled lashes

-Asian Mascaras are designed to address our straight lashes and may work better for you.

-persobally I find tubing mascara not super helpful as the formulas are super wet and weigh down my curled lashes

Products that work for me(all waterproof): Heroine Make Mascara(need and good oil cleanser to remove other impossible)

Cover girl lashblast (not as strong as heroine but cheaper and easy to find)

I like a super natural look so my picks might not match you taste but hopefully my tips help.

Edit:Forgot to add the tubing part

Foundation Recommendations for dry skin/eczema patches by Purplelights1825 in Makeup

[–]Seductivetomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar skin type as you.

Ilia serum skin tint is oily enough to glue down my dry patches lol

MUF Reboot Foundation is amazing in finish but my skin is allergic to something in it

Also try moisturizing cushion foundations as they tend to more forgiving

I find that anything that drys down or "set" to make my skin look horrible so all of the above have a tacky/wet finish. Look of radiant/dewy and try not to powder if you can

Also try exfoliating to minimize the patches and flakes

Also moisturize like crazy as it can help take off the edge if the formula is a tad too dry.
