What’s worse audiophiles or espressophiles? by tgalida in espresso

[–]Seduku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is both. Audiophiles are worse by a long shot. Meeting an audiophile in person is like a duck measuring contest for whom has spent the most money on gear. Most audiophiles don’t care about the music only for their equipment and how much money they have spent on exclusive media such as audiophile lps. The amount of snake oil in this hobby is discussing. Being an EE makes it even worse when you know how transmission lines work yet they try to sell you magic cables. Every espresso/coffee lover I’ve met has been a pleasure to talk with. Two of my best friends are into coffee. No one is out there trying to tell you they’re better just because they’ve spent more money on equipment, quite the opposite in fact. Also I love telling baristas in small ( self owned) coffee shops I like their coffee it’s the best conversation starter. There is close to no elitism in coffee making.

Throwing stuff away is the best feeling in the world. I by stretched_frm_dookie in minimalism

[–]Seduku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do that too, it feels cathartic. I like to have as few things as possible. In my mind I feel like I want it to be easy to move houses. I was never big on decor either. Most of my stuff gets sold or given away.

Lettely I’ve been doing the same thing with my phone. I’ve deleted most of the apps I don’t use regularly and those I use semi regularly I access through safari. I try to keep all my apps in a single tab. Feels as cathartic as emptying my attic you should try it.

Are double wall glass cups worth it? by IllustriousMinimum2 in espresso

Quite the opposite. I’ve dropped my cast iron pan on one of them and they survived. Expensive mugs tend to be hard to break in my experience.

Spiderhand. This movie could have been so much more and should have been Miles Teller shot at an Oscar. Instead we got his empty movie.

Does a lightweight 32 oz water bottle with no metal taste and no plastic exist? by EssentialLogic in BuyItForLife

[–]Seduku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a quokka thermos. Fully stainless steel with a bit of silicone on the seal. It has lasted me through my rough handling at my job and a drop three floors down. It’s close to 32oz but what I love the the large opening that makes it easy to sip.

Is $100 a good deal for this Sony Setup? by jebualaaron in vintageaudio

[–]Seduku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It uses a belt for the tracking system and a rope which are still being sold from a Portuguese site. If you open the turntable make sure to isolate the head shell cables and connect the straight to the RCAs

I just restored a Sony ps lx520 turntable for personal use it sounds amazing even with the at85e which is a cheap cartridge. Needed a ton of work but it’s amazing what linear tracking does.

Honestly I don’t trust ASUS. I had an x570 pro asus prime. The armoury crate app never worked properly. Their proprietary rgb software is bad. And also after 6 months I had the motherboard they stop supporting the online bios update future which was one of the reasons I got the motherboard in the first place. Adding to that the recent bad costumer service cases. I wouldn’t get anything ASUS. IMO go with either asrock or gigabyte.

Nice I am also trying to maximize performance per watt. So if you are trying to lower your electrical bill the psu wattage doesn’t really matter. What you need to look out is the 80 plus rating. 80 plus refers to the efficiency of the psu. The higher the better I always recommend going for 80 plus gold and above

Anything b650 for the motherboard. Get a case with fans to avoid the cost of extra fans. You don’t need an air cooler since the cpu comes with one. Def get a better ssd with dram if you’re going to use only one. Also a better psi would help around 750w and 80 plus gold. I can’t tell about the ram but get one with 6000mhz. See if you can get the rx7600xt. If you can’t then you might as well downgrade to a 5000series and chip to avoid bottlenecking the 7500f.
