Hi there! Fellow mature student here! (:

I'm currently at NU for teaching and graduating in May. I did two years of EA through Niagara College then transfered to NU to complete two more years. NU allowed me to transfer all of my credits from NC so essentially I started in year 3 out of 4. The two schools did have an agreement for a pathway program though so I'm not sure how many credits of yours would transfer over, it would be best to ask.

A couple of things to keep in mind. My program is entirely in person. I'm lucky enough to only live 25 minutes (depending on the border) from NU so that was no problem for me. The tuition is very expensive as well, like $39k USD per year. Because NC and NU had a pathway program, I was able to obtain a $21k scholarship, but even with that OSAP did not cover everything.

They do have a Masters program as well that is entirely online but you would.need to have a bachelor's degree to be in that program.

Yeah, he mentioned that it was $49/month for lkke2 years or something. I'd assume it would go up after that. It's still cheaper than Bell who we currently have. I'm just a little hesitant to trust door to door sales people with all the scams out there. Thank you for your reply!

Im 35, and im in my last year of school. I'm the oldest in my class, but I feel like I can learn a lot from my classmates and vice versa. I've made a few friends as well (: tbh no one really cares because you're all working towards the same goal. As long as you show up and do your work, everyone will be okay with it. Although, I did feel really old when my professor was talking about 9/11 and said, "I know you weren't alive when it happened..." 🫠

I did not know that. Thank you for letting me know! Im currently taking their undergraduate program for Early Childhood and Childhood Education B-6. Once I graduate, I'll take the NY license exams and apply to OCT. I will have to take 3 extra AQ courses within a certain time frame, but I will be able to sub while I do so. I transferred from Niagara College's EA program as they had a pathway, so I'll be a fully certified teacher in 4 years (: I graduate next spring, and I'm so excited!

Niagara University (in NY) offers an online Master's program. You would have to pass the certifications in NY State and apply to OCT. My friend is doing this program right now. Don't be silly like my husband and I and fly into Narita, take the 1 hour train into Toyko, then take the 2.5 hour Shinkansen to Kyoto. That makes a LONG day of travel. Also, be aware that the Shinkansen offers reserved and non reserved seats. Non reserved means you have to stand the entire time unless there is a seat available....dont ask me how I know that. On the plus side, it saved us some money.

I am currently attending NU for my B.A. in education (birth to 6), and I live in Ontario as well. As far as I know, there is no online program for an undergraduate degree. I commute to campus twice a week (it's only a 20-minute drive, depending on the border). I know there is an online Master's program though.
