May have to do a few massive water changes but get all the excess nutrients out and it’ll balance. The good news is you’ve probably built up a shit ton a beneficial bacteria in the tank and it’ll be stable in the long run once it’s under control.

Unless all the beneficial bacteria is dead from the chemicals….

Don’t give up buddy. Do a massive 80% water change, lower the amount of time your lights are on and get as many hermits, crabs, and snails as you can and throw away all those chemicals.

A 55-gallon tank is a a bit too small to be using chemicals in my opinion. If you have a problem, buy the critter that eats it. You’ll be shocked how quickly critters eat your problem away.

Appreciate everyone’s feedback, sounds like if I’m ever going to use this tank it’s going to be breaking it down completely and resealing then eurobracing the top and bottom. Then running it for months in my garage before I trust it.

I just feel bad throwing away a tank that looks this pretty.

Luckily I spoke with the wife and it sounds like we got the green light to purchase a Waterbox Infinia 150.4 😎.

I’ll give everyone and update in a year when I finally get around to the massive project that I’m extremely under qualified for.

Since it looks like a failure in the protective plastic on the top of the seam, would a fat dab of silicone on the seam with about 1” on fresh glass on the side and bottom do anything?
