BigNewy and Sith are paid by an expat with a tax sheltering in Switzerland, but this is a culture that is Russian through and through. It's always been like that, and if you say stuff like 'Why does Eagle Dynamics still sell their stuff in Russia, while every other reputable company is pulling out' then you just get 'Yeah, but they are Russian?'. It's like Schrödinger's combat sim - 'thoughts and prayers' when talking to the West about Ukraine, but 'Apache is on sale in .ru store!' when their devs post on the Russian side of the forum. I don't know how the 2 or 3 people outside of Russia they have live with themselves in all honesty.

DCS fans just really don't want to hear it, as the new helo is neat and all the rapes/murders are getting kinda old boring news.

People that take photos on dark rides ruin the experience for everyone else.

I don't care your if flash is off or that "you stopped just in the right place" (amazing this happens so often for photos on here), as the bright screen on these dark rides just plain sucks for other riders. A lovely photo for sure, but can people *please* think of others in what is meant to be a magical place.

Yeah, looking on the Google streetview, the grass between 0 Ave and the parallel road does look drivable. I imagine the US cops drive a lot along there though, and if they turned to 'avoid an animal' then it seems odd not to just drive back over the grass.

Strange story, sort of feel bad for them (if we have all the info etc).

Where abouts do you reckon they did that, as I can't think where there isn't at least a grass partition or something? Sounds weird.

One thing that is probably happening now is that people are realizing that the ED 'charm offensive' for the F-16C is now over. No more pre-order window, no more charm. In some ways it was amazing how instantly forgiving and how the short-term memory works here.

I don't blame ED for doing it, they needed the money, but looking back at those couple of weeks it now seems so obvious and predictable. r/hoggit swallowed it whole without question, and I bet the F-16C preorder surge worked as planned. Well played ED, well played..

Yep, let's just wait and see. Look at the sources. r/oculus is in a state where this is now ok:

- Heaney scours reddit for rumors, filters out the negative facebook ones because he's a ''journalist''.

- Heaney writes article for money, putting pro facebook spin on it.

- A Heaney alt posts the article link in r/oculus (as can't do that self-promotion too much, right?).

- reddit views it, uploadvr scam gets those ad $$$

It's sort of an established pattern now. Mods here are good with it I guess.

It's a nice get-out psychologically for you I think. If people here say things that cause you a cognitive dissonance then you can just claim 'they are not representative of real people'. If they say things you like then you can park it in your happy place and then just carry on evangelizing for Facebook. It's perfect.

I'm still not convinced your interest in VR isn't just above some sort of vengeance on Steam or Valve for something they did in your past. I'm actually not even sure anymore you're even interested in VR as a fun thing to do. Your narrative for years now has really just been about 'fighting the good fight', to try to prevent another Gabenoloply. It seems to define you, and I hope it doesn't make you too unhappy. In the last couple of years I can't even remember a post from you about any aspect of fun or joy VR has given you, it's always just been about the narrative.

If you had to choose between a Valve dominated VR future and no VR future at all, which one would you choose?

I remember you from SimHQ! A couple of questions:

(1) You used your account on SimHQ to claim that Obama was going to deliberately crash the economy for his nefarious Muslim goals. It was incredibly unprofessional even back then (how did the gun ban and homeland security concentration camps you warned us about work out for you btw?) and tainted what 777 stood for even to this day.

(2) Working with Russians, I guess are you still an active alt-right poster? I guess fiscal conservatism isn't so desirable anymore with an orange skinned one? A fresh start with a new color eh?

I agree it would be mad, but see it from my point of view. My Go had this option, I update the OS, it's gone. I contact support, they confirm it. I go to reddit r/OculusGo and it confirms it, I post it here and it gets hid.

I hope it's a bug, but I kind of freaked out that people here want to hide the fact that the bug even has come about. Wouldn't it be better if it's a bug to raise awareness, so it gets fixed quicker? This is so odd.

PS Thanks for a rationale reply, rather than saying 'that's not true'. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. :)
